The goddesses have been trapped into a position where either they are imprisoned or locked on a stalemate in keeping great evils sealed away and they can’t make their move outside there. This “Medzio Diena” that most people refer to as the disaster that caused the devastation of the world is the phenomenon in which the flow of life from Tree (I think it’s a tree of life) was reversed which made it absorb life from everything and causing an overgrowth on that tree which explains the cinematic at the start of the game where there are massive roots moving around and destroying everything.
It seems it’s an evil source of power that uses living beings as a component (much like Philosopher’s stone of Full Metal Alchemist if you’ve ever watched that). They’re experimenting with it because they plan to turn all Goddesses into (most probably) a giant Kruvina which will devastate the world by corrupting it as a whole (what they will use it for is just my speculation)
The revelations help us by directing us where the next revelation is. It’s probably Laima’s own way for the Savior to eventually find where she was imprisoned and save her and that’s why the demons are after the revelations too in order to prevent the Savior from rescuing everyone from the disaster that is to be completed.

I have no idea really, I’d actually like it if they somehow made an effort to teleport both her and her brother back to Orsha where it is technically safe ._.
Though, the same goes to that girl kidnapped by Historian* Rexipher who has a unique conversation image on her yet she’s just left all alone in Zachariel Crossroads and nothing more happens haha
