Allow people to “unlearn” a class rank, and select a new one which they start again at class level 1, keeping the EXP rate as appropriate to their current rank.
The same could also be done with individual skill points.
This solution should be satisfactory for hardcore players and casuals alike.

Here is a few problems to solve for you:
Class costumes
Skill points (if he had some saved for rank2 from rank1 and then “unlearned” rank2 or other way around)
Attributes
Class advancement quests
Unique quest/misc items and equipment (books for archer/ranger advancement quests, wugu headgear etc)
IF you imply that they can “unlearn” any rank from their path - with IMC’s sloppy coding they are bound to open can of worms and bugs like: unlearn priest 3 while keeping chaplain or being able to select impossible paths both PD and Kabbalist (because for game you are rank6 and are eligible for those classes).
The idea is more better then others, but yes, as you said, there rly so many problems. Lets think about it more deeper. Mb we will help IMC to make right choice in the end lol.

They already have a system to not allow classes which isn’t the require class from allowing you to equip weapons etc… They would only need to make delete this costume if they are no longer blank class when unlearning.
Skill Points and Attributes Points already has a reset method which could be bundled in some method any pretty sure like most it counts the skill points which don’t get used as it’s not like you can earn extra.
Unique quest would be the only slight hard thing to figure out. You could make them go get the item again or figure out something however because one idea needs thinking behind it doesn’t mean the whole idea is flawed.
Cans of Wurms is always going to be open when the thing your adding is new so by your suggestion the game should never have anything new at all because wurms will be open and no patches should ever be installed because they can lead to more wurms.
