My suggestion for this problem is making the attack button cannot be pressed longer than 1mn. It has to be 1mn because sometimes I just press it for a long time while farming a freaking 80k HP mobs.
painful af. Anyway,
This is easy to change and also reduce ton of tickets for IMC (maybe) unless you want to torture them with tickets than ignore.
What other solution you guys have? :smiley:

I cannot find any suitable reason for them to afk and z-botting like that.
Obviously, if you play the game, play it. If you don’t, you can afk somewhere and enjoy what you’re doing. That’s perfectly fine.

But harassing the attack button for your own benefit? Someone tell me how retard it is!

And leave pet alone, their attack is slow and they won’t run around attacking mobs every second. Compare to those bots running around and z-botting, pet can only give you a tiny bit of profit. Imagine I’m a lone traveller and taking a break in a dgn so I can continue later, I need my pet to protect me and those jackas.s complain my cute, tiny fluffy? Go feed your dog plz.

TBH, if they made mobs spawn randomly across the map, Z-Botting shouldn’t be a problem anymore

(but they didnt, why they don’t code it this way)

In maplestory, you have to move every so often to continue attacking again. After some time, you seem to attack, but no attacks actually connect, until you move.

sorry for being kinda ignorant, but is Z-botting referred to as attacking in place holding down the Z-button?

After 220 this is not even an issue. 1-200 just tutorial, not really important.

No fundamental difference between this and botting, should be handled all the same.

This is a sentient fan and therefore not botting. Doesn’t have any arms so it needs some form of arm to play.

Yeah I said this multiply times. I’m happy others get to this conclusion too.

Unless IMC rly think it is good as it is (what I would wanna argue with xD)…but then don’t ban ppl for it.

By my definition, abuse a game function to get benefit from actually “playing” the game is harassment. In this case, it’s z-botting.
For example, there is a vubbe with question mark in Crystal Mine for quest and a freaking lv 100+ archer keep shooting in a same way making it possible to finish the quest. Now imagine people do the same in all channel, I hope your brains are not tofu.

Stupid suggestion is stupid.

I could very well plug in my 360 controller to my PC and hit the attack over and over or even have an intermediate legal program change what the controller button does, have it fire a G-key on my gaming keyboard and now I can hold the button instead of tapping it.

I also have two monitors, so I can watch TV on one, and ‘auto’ on the other, and any admin popping in to check on me will get the chit-chat of a human because I’m still at the PC, and still hitting buttons.

Do you want to also ban people who spam Z and move around too? I bet you would…

Um, no…a player interacting with any object in-game that they are allowed to, even if they don’t need to, is not harassment, it’s being stupid. Nothing in the rules against being stupid. And nothing is stopping you from hopping to a different channel to complete your quest.

Z button crap is an expoit and should be baned. It should not fall under boting, but more under expoit of existing game mechanic. So any one who got baned … I may of been one to report you and I dont care if you think it should be allow, to me its an expoilt.

You know that a Grim Reaper monster will appear, with summoned minions, throw down traps and spam AoE spells and will kill people who AFK farm, right?

Look, you can’t just ban Z people.

I sometimes listen to music or watch a movie with the Z button held down, there is no way to tell the difference between me holding down Z and a program holding down Z.

If a GM comes and asks, I can just answer.

There is literally nothing wrong with it. You guys act like we gain super amounts of XP or silver, but Z farming is super slow not to mention completely inefficient when compared to normal grinding.

How are you going to tell the difference between someone just holding Z to grind or them going Afk? Unless you’re a GM, you can’t. Also, according to a recent post BY IMC, they said that reporting an Z player will HURT your IIR rating on your account.

What happens if you do get Z ban? I would just move around every so often, you going to ban that too? As long as I’m at the computer, why the hell do you care?

If we’re all agree on z-spamming, all channels will full of bots like that, no?

Doesn’t fix anything, mobs spawning randomly but they do move around randomly as well. The way “z-botting” or whatever stupid name the community comes up with works the moment a mob enters the hit zone of the character. That’s how the targetting system works, an advantage to range classes.

It’s not even illegal to begin with, it’s inefficient and looks silly as a whole.
People are just butthurt that others are doing it while they themselves have this “ego” and “moral” that NO IT IS WRONG, when it’s not.

If you call this exploiting the game mechanics, yes. But big deal? Gamers does that all the time in every game. Taking advantage of how the game mechanic works, like pulling bosses, stacking on players in FPS games to reach unreachable places. Bottomline is it’s no where even near cheating.
