Hello,
I just wanted to suggest a solution for kill stealing which would be to use a system similar to Guild Wars 2, where everyone who hits the target at least once will get credit/loot for it. I’ve seen some people in other posts suggest it and I agree, well in my opinion at least it is a better than banning people for it (which is somewhat extreme). And yes, the most recent game I have played is Guild Wars 2 and I am guilty of kill stealing in this game too, although I guarantee I did not do it on purpose (I actually had no idea what the kill system in this game is like and coming from GW2, I did not really think much of it).
For right now, in my opinion, this is probably one of the better ways for those complaining about kill stealing/victims.
What do you think?
How does this system works? I’m just waiting for open beta but I’m curious. (Sorry for anything wrong, I’m still learning English…)
I agree with this.
Kill stealing exist only because Tree of Savior allows it to exist.
Their is no such thing as kill stealing in Guild Wars 2 thanks to this system.Something very similar should be implemented here. It’s very often you receive a quest that has you kill a certain monster/monsters within a certain area, this system would prevent a kill stealing free-for-all for the people questing and those that are generally grinding. It would also remove a huge portion of harassment and stress from the game overall.
It would even encourages people to work together and rather than loosing exp/loot you leave the situation with saying thanks (and your exp/loot isn’t stolen). Makes the game experience much more enjoyable.
It’s a good system and correct me if i’m wrong, but on party system members can only share experience if they’re nearby. So, it won’t encourage players to do leech, I think.
But if it isn’t possible to do something like that, KSers must be punished. I don’t think permanent ban at the first occurrence would be good, but could be a punishment that would be scaling with the number of the occurrences, being that on certain point, it would be permanent ban.
I have had some experience with gaining experience from monsters I have assisted to kill with a person outside of my party.
Hmm, according to other people, right now whoever does the last hit to the monsters will get the loot/credit for it, and I’m guessing here but that probably means the same rules apply for quests that requires monster kills.
For some reason I thought you meant to permanently ban those who are caught kill stealing the first time. Hehe, opps.
You get exp by doing a certain amount of damage to a monster. And the items go to the person who did the most damage. So in that sense there isn’t a thing such as kill stealing in tos.
How about for monster kill quests, from what you’re saying, the same rules will apply? (Person who does most damage?)
Not really. In many situations I give the first attack on a mob (with autoattack) and then a Barbarian, or Archer just shows up and use a Over Kill skill on him. He did more damage than me and I was doing a quest that required killing those mobs, but this KSed mob didn’t count on that quest. If this was not KS, was it then?
Again I’m pretty sure if you do a certain amount of dmg to a monster it registers. Yes doing the first hit with low dmg and someone else taking the other 90% of the monsters health will probably not register as yours lol. If anything you could be the 1 seen as Ksing but that’s up for debate. Long story short tos gives you items/exp and quest kill’s if you do a minimum amount of dmg. I have tested this with friends outside of my party and basicly doing a decent amount is dmg will register a quest kill. Sorry I’m coming off mean I’m just not sure how else to phrase it
Yeah I think loot itself goes to the person that last hits it, but I am pretty sure quest credit if its a kill quest goes to players that do enough damage to said enemy.
