I tried some old spots like Kalejimas, Demon Prison and some others, with no luck. Did something change? Where I can farm gems decently? Any help is appreciated.
Easiest ways to get gem exp are uphill, and farming Hunting grounds or CM and feeding all the blue equipment into a gem.
But if you are talking about getting lvl1 colored gems, you can get them from the gem merchant npc in towns

I think all gem drops have been replaced by abrasives. So yeah, if you want a gem, try Geraldas and sons.

I’ve noted that the Geraldas family is always present in towns during the re:buid event, which drastically helps getting the gems you want for your sockets. Also getting full xp from refining gems into other gems is invaluable: with the event, you get 54700 xp from a level 5 gem that is at 40000/43200, while normally you would only get the base 10800 from level 5.
