So, since the launch of Tree of Savior, I’ve just been relying on running the highest Instanced Dungeons in Klaipeda, after it was moved from Fedimean. That’s all I’ve been doing though, so… what do I do now? Is this the endgame? Where can I get better equipment? I see people with all kinds of crazy stuff, but I cannot for the life of me figure it out.
What’s ET? CM? CM9? I am unsure of where to find this information. Is there a fan-wiki or something I can refer to? I’d like to advance, but I wouldn’t even know where to begin. I’ve just been leveling characters through the same dungeon, and it’s a slow trudge. I want to see better damage, anything above 5k would be nice. My skills are around 9-13k damage for the most powerful skills as far as I can tell. I’m just at a loss. It might be either overwhelming, the game not properly guiding me along to options, or I’m simply not seeing anything.
Not sure why you don’t ask people in-game but lets go with the answers, or at least the ones I know of…
ET stands for Earth Tower as a special dungeon you do in steps, not sure how it goes after the first 5 floors as in if you can skip floors or you have to go in sequence to unlock them. Someone might come clarify for you later on.
CM stands for Challenge Mode, after Lv 200 some purple blinking monster will spawn and when you kill it it will open a portal for the Challenge Mode, inside, you have to kill the monsters spawning as fast as you can before the time run out and when the bar fill up a random boss will spawn and you have to kill it.
It’s a good place to get gear and EXP, but I recommend you to go with a group for better performance.
CM9 is either Challenge Mode for Sausys 9 map (Lv 34x or 35x, I forgot) or Challenge Mode Stage 9 (not sure if this exists, I know up to Stage 7 tho).
Now for one important thing:
Forget about that unless is to squeeze some extra EXP to hit 360 (if that still give any at that point tho).
You can hunt in Hunting Grounds or Challenge Mode for some stuff before going into Raid to get recipe for other gear, that is, if they are worth the effort for your build, sometimes is better to stick to the Primus unidentified stuff you find out there in the wild (Orange color gear).
They also drop in open fields and dungeons, but with less chances I think.
Also, you should do Saalus daily, you see a bunch of people Shouting for party in the chat for that, so you can get Blessed Shards to use later on your weapon of choice at max Lv.
The shards can be crafted in Blessed Stones (those are the ones needed to start transcendence on gear) and the recipe is 50k on the General Merchant in any city.
You can also go for World Bosses, people shout about party for them every time the system announce one spawning (generally called Demon Lords).
In Hunting Grounds aside from gear you can also find rarely some Blessed Shards and find some Monster Card Album (Red, Green, Purple…) that summon a Lv 330 boss, these require a party, if you are in a guild you might find some members asking for more people.
Those are the end game for ToS, unless you are into a guild it may have something more to do.
Thank you very much for the information, and trust me. I have asked many people for information. Most ignored me, and the ones that have replied didn’t quite help me, though I appreciate their help in any case. This should at least point me in the right direction.
This is partially caused by your level range. Saalus queues are like mercenary mission queues - they follow the average party’s level range for automatching.
In my experience in SEA server at peak times there’s always people queuing for Saalus. Even during off-peak times a simple shout along with stating your level range will bring people to the queue.
Skipping Saalus is a very bad idea, the Blessed Shards you get from it is literally the second de facto currency for TOS.
Saalus is most important if you want to improve your damage output, as you need the shards to transcend your gear.
If you are solo player, high lvl open fields or low lvl hunting grounds are really good to grind for money and items.
Usually, 30 min session in any HG dungeon gives me 2-3 shards, 2-3 albums, 10-12 gems, 10-12 ores, and even a primus weapon that can be sold or refined. You don’t even have to do the level 340 one. It’s clearly time better spent than queuing in regular instanced dungeons.
And yes, nobody queues Saalus, you just make a party and use shout to fill the remaining spots. For Fedimian server, it’s even easier because you have people with so many alts they do runs at almost fixed hours and you can join the fun easily (you get free carry if your char isn’t top level yet too).
Zero. Looting chance is clearly overrated, I don’t think it matters that much seeing how high the cap is.
I suppose you use the 340 level HG for farming, which is clearly not the best place for drops except level 350 weapons/armor. IIRC the drop for shards and other mats is the same whatever dungeon you use, so with the high spawn rate you have better chances in lower level dungeons since you can kill stuff much faster. When I farm HG340 for items, I almost never get shards. Simply because I kill less stuff.
I had farmed Dawn Frag for my Phadas in HG 230 when IMC “fixed” the Dawn Maiden swelling bug, after I got enough frags which took me 3 days (3 hours each day) and I only had 3 or 4 shards for all those time
BTW the shard drop rate is 0.045% (https://tos.neet.tv/items/645783) in any HG now which mean you must be very lucky to have 2-3 shards each 30 mins session
Well my point is HG is defintely a good place for farming weapons, armor, some material or even silver but it’s not very possible to farm shards for now. It will be possible in the transcendence patch which increase drop rate to ~0.42% (https://tos-ktest.neet.tv/items/645783) equal to half Ruby/Mithril/etc drop rate, even higher than our old shard drop rate
I usually have 1 primus (double with swell) for about 1 hour farming at HG 340 which fill my 10k6 weights with drops, sometime I get 2 sometime I get none but it will drop more ofter if you have higher looting chance ( I have 63x looting chance)
Don’t confuse Looting Chance with Looting Quality, LC only increase the amount of stuff dropping, it also applies to crap mats and ores and possible albums, but not shards.
I for a Thau with around 400 LC and I get a load of blues, few purples and rarely a primus.
Also, LC could indeed be overrated at certain cases, what I mean is, the fast you kill the fast you get stuff, my thau is pretty weak, I won’t bother gearing it up, in fact, I won’t bothering gearing up mostly of my chars for now, but on my falc I noticed that I get more loot sometimes due to the speed of the killing.
In HGs, a party would be most suitable: 2-3 thau, 2-3 DPS, or 1 healer in case HG340 is a bit harder.
I’m not sure if LC in 1 char affect the whole party, I highly doubt, but we never know what IMC did on the code too.
