So they're actually nerfing Circling. Will IMC ever going to rework Shinobi too?

Falconer’s Circling will be nerfed and it’s going to reduce AoE def ratio to 1. To compensate, the class got some buffs to many other skills and some neat attributes. In a nutshell, support Falconers got hit pretty hard, while Battle Falconers will be very happy about the new changes.

As we know, Circling is a staple in the current meta and way stronger thank Linker was before “Renewal”.

Those changes are surely going to stir up the meta, but there’s still one thing that MUST be done: a Shinobi rework. As much as I like playing with it and how it got stronger after “Renewal”, I must admit that Shinobi is an aberration to this game thanks to Bunshin no Jutsu and that’s all Shinobi is for. Kunai is weak even with all your clones using it, Mijin no Jutsu is pure trash, Katon no Jutsu is a weak skill that’s only used in TBL for the cloaking effect and Mokuton no Jutsu could be a great skill, but is clunky and only hit one target.

With Bunshin no Jutsu as it is, it doesn’t matter how much you buff all other DPS classes, there’s simply no way to compete with Shinobi builds with many skills compatible with the clones (I’m looking at you, Murmnobi), so I hope IMC has something planned for Shinobi in those “Intense Balancing” changes.

P.S.: I loved the buffs given to Hoplite, Cataphract and Dragoon too. Linker could use some love though, you already nerfed it too much.

30 sec circling with expand attribute plus mobility
Vs
10 sec duration at 1 spot

I’ll choose the first even with aoe nerf

Mobility could be a nerf as it depends on Pet’s intelligence
sometimes Falcon disappears, aiming it’s cancelled by re-casting it, so i have my doubts on it.

Mergen falconers depends a lot more on AoE attack ratio with these changes

er… what nerf? reduce enemy aoe def ratio to 1 is not the same with reduce enemy aoe def ratio by 1, right?

It’s a nerf, reduce the AoE def ratio let you put the monster in 0, making you hit everyone inside, it’s make Falconer c1 not Worth taking.

But Falconer c3 get’s 30 seconds in expand making everything 75% stronger with the attribute in the max. For Sappers that is a huge buff at least.

attribute preemptive strike: sure victory has 10 level, each level add +10% crit chance… will it still works when the enemy has 99% hp? or is it a trap attribute? 7.475.000 silver to max it

only against full health enemy, even one hp missing, no 100% crit chance

Hard to pull off, atleast in my head. I always start with a manual sonic strike after circling…
Only after that, preemtive strike would begin.

This looks like a PvP attribute. Preempite Strike is already strong, but with 100% crit chance against full health targets, Falconer’s first target in TBL will be a free kill.

I never played Sapper, is the new Circling that good for Sapper skills compared to the actual Circling? (with Expand attribute ofc) and which skills in particular?

People take Sapper3 in their Falc3 builds because of how great Broom Trap is. No target limit, huge AoE, long duration and absurd crit chance. On top of that, it deals melee strike damage, so it goes well with Circling: Expand. Now that they’re increasing Circling duration, Sapper3Falc3 can enjoy their Broom Trap erasing everything in the screen even more than now.

He says that because circling now last way more than 10 seconds.
(I dunno why they said it lasted 20 seconds in the news, like, they know their own skills, the one they designed. right?)

So, you have sooo much time in comparison to use, like your whole kit. So, broom trap, a skill that still has unlimited AoE, would hit everything with a longer lasting circling, with time left to use other skills, or even another broom trap if you’ve one captured.

The new Circling is buffed by a lot.
Previously it was just a low-duration, static AoE debuff that only benefitted a few selected Classes,
now it benefits/complements basically the whole Archer roster as it’s mobile, with a higher uptime/downtime ratio and better combination possibilities with other buffs/attacks.

@Composition, @Pokart ty for the answer.

Does broom trap, with circling expand active, hit flying enemies too?

That too, but specially because Stockades have too unlimited targets and Claymore have fixed 8, so both get a 75% increase in damage.

It’s a huge nerf, because it makes that less Archer classes can use it, killed a lot of interactions like with Mergen Homing Arrow and Triple Arrow, Musketeer Covering Fire, and a lot more.

It’s a huge buff on the other side because of expand, but have only some classes that can abuse it.

No, but the hits that got duplicated he grounded enemies can.

when IMC fix companion AI for hunter class

it is too early to write that.

there is no proof yet new circlinglv5+homing arrow won’t work like before this patch.

I don’t need one, the current circling let us put enemies in 0 AoE defense, and that let you hit everyone inside circling, with the new one setting it to 1, you will need AoE Attack Ratio to hit more enemies, and Archers have 0 natural AAR… with 3 Centaur you would hit 6 enemies under circling per example.
.

So Circling will transform every mob inside its range into a small enemy basically?

Yes… That is the new effect, it will not let you hit unlimited targets anymore, and that is a huge nerf specially for people that used Falcon 1 as a filler.
