After having explored the entire continent… this is what I found… it’s impossible to get to the lv300-400 areas… or even past 274.
Perhaps they plan to remove exp restrictions down the road? Killing stuff in maps 20 levels over me and getting an appropriate amount of exp would be nice.
There’s a level cap?
My wife got warped to my level 60+ map when we partied. She was level 1.
We had to walk her back to her town and she was level 21 by the time we got there…
- She gained exp?
- Plvl is possible. :3
I don’t think there is a level cap… but as far as actual zones are concerned, there is no way to get to the lv272+ ones at the top. The highest one actually is on the very bottom of the map around the two cities… and it’s lv274
Pretty reasonable considering the level cap right now. (280, I believe)
I didn’t know there actually was a lvl cap
thanks for mentioning it
I never understood exp restrictions on recent MMOs. It’s just counter intuitive. If you kill monsters below your level the regular exp is its own punishment. If you’re level 50 killing kepas they obviously won’t give you enough experience, the system doesn’t need to make it so that you get even less experience. The same goes for the opposite, if you’re level 50 killing level 90 mobs the difficulty and time you’ll take will probably not make it worth the level 90 exp, and even if it does then it’s your reward for managing to do it.
At least it’s not like in post-renewal Ragnarok, where even drop chances get lower (which is only ok for the bots since they can make new characters to farm whichever level range they want, but high level non-bot characters can’t farm low level drops)
its like that to counter power leveling imagine me as a lvl 220 ranger going into lvl 200 maps and just barraging everything while the lowbie behind me soaks up all that exp…
That makes some sense. Honestly from all the systems I dislike about this game this is the one I care about the less, so it’s ok for me. Like I said before, as long as the drop chances don’t get lower too, then it’s ok.
But it’s somewhat annoying when I go farm items from lower level mobs and get almost no exp at all for all the time spent there.
Personally I wish they already had implemented the maps… as I love to explore…
I’m sure it has something to do with leeching other characters.
Anyways, I think that window should be opened up to about 30 levels before exp falloff occurs. That way you’re not getting punished just for playing the game naturally. The way it is now, you have to plan out all your map movements. Carving into every map to keep a consistent exp gain.
It’d make power leveling insubstantial enough to not be a game breaker, but it’d still be there in spirit.
