So... almost a month behind ktos

Hi guys,

Ps: if there is an topic about this, please show me, and i do apologize about this(I didn’t found anything o.o)

Another time of big updates has come, and i was quit, and came back 2 weeks ago. As always, i search for news in tos, sadly there are a lot of them, but in ktos. At this point, i found normal, but than i reliazed that is not fair, not at all. 1 week behind, 2 week behind, its ok, but again, we are almost a month, or more(correct me if i am wrong). This has to be changed, we have to wait a lot to get some, sorry for the word, ■■■■ patchs, and ee just complain we each others, we need to do something so than can at least hear us!! iTOS deserves better stuff!!!

So do you guys agree we me? If so, help to think something to make this happening. If not, please say to me, i am a good listener!

Thank you all.

Well I don’t think they have enough persons working there to do everything they need at a faster pace.
They have to fix bugs, create new content, work on balancing content and deal with player concerns for the kToS version, then they have to do all of that with our game iToS + translate everything and make sure it runs whenever they have a patch on iToS. When we have a problem that the Devs need to solve, from what I understand it has to be translated first into Korean since Devs don’t speak much English, at least that’s what 1 of the staff said.

Most of the asian games I played, the English version was a whole year behind xD. So having it a month behind, for me, is ok. I wish iToS and kToS were a week or 2 apart but it’s whatever from my point of view.

That’a great, i think your insight on this it was helpful.
Maybe i am without pacience, since i played this game from beta, but i need to have more xD

Thanks for your reply!

I guess u never played Lineage 2, EU/NA/RU getting new patch after 6 months in best case scenario.

The only problem I have with being a few months behind is that IMC actually directly runs this version so it’s a bit odd, but they’re following the standards of catering to Korea first.

This is probably the nearest you’ll see an MMO in updates to Korea for a long time though ,generally you’re at least a year behind, if not more.

Well Black Desert just gave me an update Korea got last week today. :o

I think a month in difference is ABSOLUTELY fine. K played games (Ragnarok Online Europe) where you waited a year for updates xD. I really think that a month is totally okay

what year are you in? is this late 90s early 2000s?
games that were 1 year behind were in those days.

if there isn’t a publisher whipping IMC, you would at least expect their customers to have higher standards than late 90s.
no game right now that thrives is more than 1 or 2 wks behind between official servers. heck, tons of games that update SAME day , same time between different regional versions!

i actually think the opposite. they have grilled players with rank 8 content of 2month playtime worth for much longer, now there is absolutely nothing to do, just repetitive dailies, chatting? and just fking around.

i would have expected to hear some r9 planning / news by now. Rank 9 will come 2019 at this rate lol with no players to entertain gg. I am sure there are other companies hungry to take our money with a better product , services, quicker content releases.

idk where the delay is in IMC but there is defintely problems with the company if they can’t release contents either because their programmers are unskilled or they fail to keep their workers happy and end up leaving the company over and over for the past few years.

this is really the reason why my liking for games go down when i find out theyre eastern. theyre uaually beter than the western mmos but i dont like the feeling of waiting long for updates that were recently patched in with the korean version. but i agree, a month is a bit out of character with TOS, we usually get updates within 2 - 3 weeks but ive never seen a month pass without a patch in this game (other than Rank 8 patch)

BnS 6+ months behind last I saw in 2015~
MapleStory 6mo~1yr
DFO/DnF Season 5 v season 3… huge difference

The only real issue here with being a month behind is because of the lack of content. We’re more than a month behind, but regardless the work needs to be translated which is an extra step, not a long one, but given the current translations… I’m not shocked they take a while with that.

I played ragnarok (one or 2 years behind), and so played dragon nest(a year behind). I know that it’s usual(not normal) to have very long delays between servers, but I can’t say that’s the right thing to do here in ToS, like some say, there is nothing to do, and the updates and patchs that comes every week is repeating, on and on, but still not concrete in end game to do(even if we aren’t in end game by now), but how long they can hold this? Until a new game in the same category appears? This can’t be a rule, players here in western must have the same priority, or similar(like weeks behind), we invest money on game, we do contributes with it, we deserve better.
Correting my initial post, we are almost 2 months behind ktos(someone say that we are 3 months behind), is this correct?

Sadly, instead of being over one month behind KToS in updates, they could hypothetically warp us over to KToS’s version RIGHT NOW and we still wouldn’t have any new content compared to what we already have. Just some Quality of Life and some Balance changes.

It’s almost like all those developers and resources they hired for the combat revamp were just… FIRED or something right afterwards instead of capitalizing on it with new content or whatever. R9 and new content isn’t in sight anywhere even on KToS, so getting us up to date with KToS won’t help on the content matter at all. -_-

Cripes, what a way to waste all the new players they got with the combat revamp, in both KToS and IToS.

The core problem is that the version they released (and I mean the initial game launch) had massive flaws that they just now realized within the last few months. While it’s annoying at least they are working on those core problems instead of pasting new content on top of a shitty foundation. I think the wait will ONLY be worth it if they can fix the core problems…which is happening right now.
I’ll happily wait a few months for content instead of having new content right now but a flawed underlying game design messing everything.
However, I totally get you that it is frustrating… during the last 3 weeks I created 3 new characters which I always wanted to try… so that’s what kept me I interested in ToS

IMO, the devs can take as long as they need to ensure that the content they release is bug free, vulnerability free, and well thought-out.

(Porting content from kToS to iToS is pretty much new content since the devs still need to re-factor the content for it to work with iToS)

Rushing the devs has not led to quality content in the past, and I don’t think it will now.

nah actually rushing or not there will be bugs. never expect a bug free environment in tos.
its better and healthier gaming environment to have contents and fix bugs faster.

dont suggest what has failed for the last year. they should rush with content releases and rush with bug fixes. imc doesnt have proper testers so it needs to go live to catch bugs. dont waste ur time trying to “polish” cause it hasnt worked for over 1yr.

■■■■ this nonsense about “take your time” cause the game will die with contents +/- bugs, vs. game dies with no content. i wanna see content before it dies atleast lol

it would be better to release it, so players can test it and find the bugs. holding it back will still leave a few bugs because only a small team wil be testing. releasing it will have 1000+ people testing it. it could be releast on a test server as well

I think you mean 1000+ people abusing the bugs, causing mass imbalance problems, and then giving bad reviews (not necessarily unfairly) because of all the abusable bugs.

I wouldn’t really recommend a test server for this game either, because then you are splitting the already low active pop between an additional server.

How about, instead of a test server, we give the buggy patches to KToS (which has a higher pop and are able to give bug reports to the devs in their official language), and let them test it before the polished ones come to iToS.

the test server would only be used for… testing. so peoples progress wont be saved so it wouldnt split the population.

and abusing the bugs wont be a problem bigger than it already is because we are already using this system.

i have no idea hor korean > international works tbh. but if the buggy patches were to come to ktos, that would mean that we are running the same version. whic i dont think is the case because if it was, we would have the same exact bugs and updates that ktos has (bokor x3 zobmie stats still not here after a year  ) but i dont even thin kwe have the same bugs that ktos has so testing them on ktos wouldnt work

I agree with you wholeheartedly and I believe that ToS is wasting a lot of potential for their game and the audience they can reach, was just pointing out the norms.

The class system is definitely unique and fun enough to make me play and stay in, but for most people once they see things like:

  • Gacha system and most costumes being gated behind it, as well as stats potions
  • Tokens (whether you can sell on market or not)
  • Balance isn’t taken very seriously by them and isn’t prompt at all
  • Lack of endgame or alternatives
  • Forced TP to unlock more characters (Can’t just buy it via market like tokens!) coupled with extremely limited character slots, and since it’s tied to steam making alts is actually a slight pain if you use steam to chat with others and such.
  • Leveling curve that seems to dip in and out due to events making it a breeze, but outside of events being a little costly for new players (Multiply Tokens, x8, Dungeon Resets, etc) playing around dailies,or time consuming as hell.

Realistically it’s a game system that doesn’t do good having the idea of ‘dailies’, yet for some reason most of the game revolves around them because grinding/questing is absolute garbage compared to dungeons post 100, short of very few level ranges.

This just means they need content, has anything in the few months we’re behind in Korea fixed these issues?
