So after installing windows 10, I get that infamous pak error - WITH A TWIST

After research here and on Steam, it is noted that one can resolve your issues by editing the release.revision.txt with the patch info.

However, I lack the release.revision.txt file and based on my findings, this seems unique doesn’t it? How does one fix this then?

Why don’t you create the file on notepad? Its just a text file, place it where the fix you saw tells you to and try to run the game.
