So, about Rodelero

Love the idea of smacking stuff with a shield, but this class…has issues in PvE. Granted, I went Highlander C2 before it, so I’m doing perfectly fine still, and Montano and Targe Smash are good, but as far as bosses go…

-Shield Charge-
First of all, this skill is absolutely hilarious. Knock enemies out of your way like nobody’s business, absolutely wonderful for plowing through stuff that you don’t feel like fighting. Bonus points for you being able to dash while the skill is still active, albeit at a slightly slower speed. Still beats walking though!
Damage isn’t this skills strong suit, but that’s not the point of it anyway, so this is fine. Maybe just increase the speed and duration a bit?

-Montano-
Great damage, overheats once, inflicts stun. Pretty alright for mobbing, gets the job done. Stun doesn’t work on bosses for obvious reasons, but this is okay. Mind you this is the only CC I’m absolutely fine with not working on bosses…the next skills though…

-Targe Smash-
Wonderful skill. High strike damage, high AoE ratio (if a bit small of a radius), and inflicts Darkness…
Except you know, darkness does nothing in PvE. On players it acts much like a silence where you can’t attack or use skills. Why not make it prevent mobs from attacking either? Only seems fair, since there are mobs that can inflict darkness on YOU. As for bosses, the duration is short enough anyway, why not let them be affected by it? It’s not like a full team of 5 rodelero’s could lock a boss with it, the duration and chance are too low for that.

-Shield Push-
Defense decrease, swee-- wait it doesn’t affect bosses? Are you freaking kidding me? Why the hell does the defense decrease not work on bosses? Unbalanced still wouldn’t let you knock bosses down so I don’t see WHY it doesn’t affect them. Talk about a wasted skill, since the debuff is the ONLY reason you’d use this skill. -sigh-

-Shield Shoving-
A 1.5 second turn around and movement locking debuff? Swee–wait it ALSO doesn’t work on bosses? For crying out loud, Squire can do something similar for a MUCH longer duration, so why in god’s name doesn’t this work on them? This makes no sense…

Currently working towards C2, but it’s quite sad to see the only skills that are good on Rodelero be the only two skills that actually do damage, because none of the debuffs of the other skills even work.
It’s not fun being a class where 90% of your toolkit is worthless where it matters.

I’ve heard from some people slithering doesn’t actually apply the evasion bonus also, but I haven’t confirmed it yet, my rodelero is still C1. The unbalanced status seems pretty underwhelming, but maybe I’m missing something. Too bad all those skills that have you move with a raised shield don’t actually increase your block chance at all for their duration.

C3 skills look alright on paper. Nothing incredible compared to other sword classes at R6, just good. I just wonder if it’s even worth getting that far though.

Unbalanced doesn’t scale well at all regardless. But at the level you get it at, it could at least drop the defense of most bosses by a good 80~90%.

I can see it falling off completely by the time you hit 200+ though. At level 15 it would just about halve the highest defense I can find on the ToSBase, and that’s a loooot of points to spend.

If bash works on bosses (they have stats, so there’s hope yet) and you get a lucky mix of high int, low con/dex on a physical boss, then that’d be sweet, but I’m skeptical.

Well and peltasta can lower bosses defenses with umbo thrust :sunny:
They really need to think more about that class.
