I think the % penalties and benefits from Slash, Pierce, Strike, as well as the elemental ones should be reduced.
Let’s say that two characters have the same phys attack of 100. One is equipped with a Slash based weapon and one with a Pierce based weapon. A standard attack on a mob for both would result in 150 damage for the character using a Slash and 50 damage for the character using a Pierce.
That means a mob with 300 health would require…
2 hits from the Slash equipped char
3 hits from a Strike equipped char
6 hits from a Pierce equipped char
That’s quite a penalty and since certain classes (archers for example) are mostly one attack type (pierce) it can really impact the feeling of imbalance between classes
If the benefits and penalties were reduced to 25% this might feel a little more balanced
At 25%, a monster with 300 health would take…
2.4 hits from the Slash equipped char (if that were possible - just showing that it’s less than 3)
3 hits from a Strike equipped char
4 hits from a Pierce equipped char
I think that might feel more balanced
