What’s the point of having such low durations on Buffs that have NO COOLDOWNS, just turn them into Toggle-able Buffs or at least give them reasonable, unintrusive durations (10-15 minutes). Having to recast 4-6 buffs every 10-30 seconds IS NOT fun or engaging, it’s a chore that only hurts the gameplay experience of some Classes. I literally avoid playing some Classes, which I otherwise find interesting, just because they are too high-maintenance in terms of Buff rotations.
Hate having to put my helmet back on (Murmillo) every minute, does it kill my air flow or something?
Do I die if I wear it for over a minute?
The murmillo makes sense when the defense increases, but now it should be permanent and at most increase the sp of the shield skills, as if it were an attribute.
Yup, it’s a big issue. They are making a lot of buffs have 60 minute durations soon though, but there are still a lot that wont be changed like Elemental Essence, which makes no sense.
“Soon” seems to be the leading theme of changes in ToS, these kind of duration adjustments should be fixed within a week MAX. It’s literally as simple as changing a few values in the code.
It already kills your mspeed though.
I think some of the powerful buffs shouldn’t have long duration so people have to actually make an effort to make it stay on. Modafinil & Healing Factor for example.
For me, I’d just want a longer duration for Finestra and Dragon Fear (+3 aar). I don’t really want to recast every minute. Maybe they could remove that animation where my character raises his hand then I might be fine with the duration being short.
What can we expect from them when they can’t even bother to fix a bug that everyone has been complaining about for a month that prevents you from interacting with NPCs…
true, self buffing is an outdated concept, the skills they are giving long ass duration’s should just be turned into passives at this point…
low cd high impact buffs that affect no one but yourself should have a secondary action component, for instance turning them into an attack skill eg. i swing sword and can damage stuff and get my buff in the process
doing this will make the game play better since your actions while in combat are dedicated to purely combat itself, rather than stopping a bit to polish your weapon every X seconds…
this game has tons of functionality issues since day 1
I get that they are trying to make it as “old school”-ish as possible but tbh most of the old fashion style of gaming are just a pain.
What we need from old school genre is the overall gameplay and atmosphere, not including all the silly mechanics that was held back by technology back then
