"Sit down" and "stand up" should be 2 different keys

Just to avoid that following situation:

You’re sitting somewhere, an aggressive monster shows up. You hit Insert to stand up, but the monster manages to hit you just slightly before that, which causes you to already stand and then sit down again instead.

(Also, not sure Insert is the best key for that anyway)

I disagree. I think they should remain on the same key, it’s way more intuitive and you get less keys to worry about overall. There are very few aggressive monsters early on, only those that “fall” from the sky when you get nearby. And you should already be experienced and cautious when sitting on higher level maps.
This problem of sitting when attacked exists since RO days and in a lot of games as well, it’s easier to get used to such situations than remapping to two keys.
I’m a little suspicious to talk about Insert Key = Sit/Stand, I played a lot of RO so I’m used to it. It feels almost intuitive for me that the Insert Key should Sit.

I feel like attack or jump should stand up your character, as well as insert, insert is just so far away on the keyboard and it makes it’s tough to find it as it’s not a key I often press.

im ok with one key. why the big issue?

That’s actually a good idea. Attack and Jumping should definitely stand you up. But could lead to more bugs when using those gem enchant, crafting, card enchant functions. This need to be tested by their team first.

…no. That would be dumb.

Pressing two keys to sit spam would enrage many people

well, the more options, the better, right? (ie being able to configure whether its a single button or two)

If you’re playing with a controller, it’s even further away O_O!
(good idea attacking/jump should stand you up)

I think the situation you described doesn’t happen very often. Using just one key is the logical choice and does not clutter up key binds. However I would like to see other ways to stand up, like pressing jump.

@Aries
Pressing R1+R2 on the controller makes you sit/stand.

But yeah, I think most of us who are fine with it got used to insert because of RO.

You’re having trouble sitting and standing, I knew there were casual people playing this game but this is just sad, you’ve taken it to a whole new low.

Next someone will start having trouble remembering to breathe.

Oh damn, you’re pretty tough over the internet boy-o, I mean look at that description “Unsung would best describe me. If you want to get in touch with me, you should keep your hands to yourself and re-evaluate your life.”, If that doesn’t read like something out of an angsty 14-year-old’s journal I don’t know what does.

Keep fighting the good fight lad.

enjoying the second iCBT a lot. But this still annoys me.

I have some lag and that makes it more obvious, maybe that’s why most of the replies here don’t see it as an issue.
It would be much safer if I could hit a button for standing up several times and then be sure it registered and focus on attacking, moving etc, instead of accidentally:
-hitting the sit/stand key a second time from thinking the first one didn’t register, then seeing your character stand up and sit right back down
-if a monster manages to attack you before your command registers, you sit down instead of standing up.

The neat solution would be as Syril mentioned, the jump button also canceling sitting position, but not sure what other bugs that could bring about.

I’m also playing an archer this time, using Kneeling Shot, which has a similar issue (although you stay in the stance until you use it again regardless of being attacked or similar).
