Simply cant play the game HELP

Bug Description :
I log in into the game after the update, on wednesday, suddenly i got a red error menssage on my screen saying that something like fogmap.xml is missing, after that i simply cannot log out or change characters but i can still play. After a few minutes the game VGA crash and i become unable to play again unless i revalidate the steam files, which says that i’m missing 45 files and start downloading them, after that i have to wait the launcher update all over again to play for about 15 minutes and repeat all the freaking process, its driving me crazy i just got back to the game and its frustrating. Its like wait 1 hour (of updates and downloads) and play 30 minutes or so, i already made a ticket of it but i didn’t get a properly answer from the staff, so i came to ask for the community for help!

PS: I do not have any addon installed.

Steps to reproduce the issue :

  1. Log in, play
  2. Error missing xml file (fogmap or something)
  3. VGA Error
  4. Revalidate steam files > reupdate all TOS > play 20 minutes repeat the process

This might be related to map exploration bug. I recommend deleting the entire patch folder located in the root directory, then revalidate the game. You’ll be deleting most of the game and be in for a minimum of 3.8gb of a download, but it’s probably your best shot.

So far it worked, and i no longer get the missing xml error.
BUUUUT , i don’t know if is my actual map (cristal mines lf 2) with my alt, i can’t play more than 5 minutes before getting a VGA error, anyone knows how to stop this? Or at least minimize the occurrences?

Was it only happening on that map, with that character? Try disabling the optimisation beta option in the game settings.

I can’t change any of the ““Performace”” settings, if i do the game doesn’t allow me to log out or quit so the changes take effect. I need to close the game via task manager and doing so the game doesn’t change the configs, can i change this via user config files?? Which line i would change?

In your release folder:
...\Steam\steamapps\common\TreeOfSavior\release

There’s a file called user.xml that contains various settings – but I couldn’t see that it includes the optimisation beta option.

You could try adjusting these to see if it helps. Remember to make a backup. For example if wanted to switch everything to lowest settings you could do this;

UseFXAA="0"
UseWarfog="0" 
UseDepth="0" 
UseBloom="0"

Running in windowed mode:

If it looks like things are working, you can then do some trial and error to see if any of these settings are causing issues.

Well, there is simply notthing that i can do. I tried all things, open a ticket, and by now the IMC staff doesn’t answered me at all. I realy tried to play TOS again, i was so hype with the upcoming combat changes, i even made a new character to start from zero to learn about the changes in the game that i miss, but sadly the game is still full of bugs and the staff still not fixed at least the bugs that doesn’t allow us to play.
For now, i’m done. Thank you guys from community!! I really tried.
