Solution: Hire a team of GM’s who specifically filter and screen through global messages (megaphones). Chances are this will be a simple solution to the spammers who are taking advantage of your chat system and ruining game play experience.

And so far this is the only method I’ve ever seen that actually works (been here since EQ1 just after launch… played MANY a MMOs lol… no I swear I’m not old

It truly is a simple solution to such a massive problem. It works!
I’ve had this idea some times…I’m not a programmer, don’t know too much about networking.
Btw, is possible to ban the hardware of a PC? Like mac address or some unique thing that prevents MOBO or internet adapters from connecting to the server?

No. It isn’t possible to ban hardware afaik. What they could do is ban IP addresses, but then they just a VPN and change their IP and bypass that.
Law allows IP bans if the person is outside of the region that the product is targeting. Youtube does it all the time with videos as an example. That said; it doesn’t stop people. VPNs are a thing.
I don’t understand why gaming companies don’t prosecute anyone botting for a gold-farming site.

Back in 2005~6 when I played SOLDAT, the community had indeed a way to ban a hacker by “GUID” as they called. Really don’t know what or how it was, but the banned players had a hard time bypassing it.
Unfortunatly I lost contact with everyone after the game comunity died.
The fastest solution ( a temporary one ofc ) is to give a lvl req. to use megaphones. Best lvl? 45 Why? coz it will take some time to hit 45 and on 46 if i remember correctly there is the “exp change” in the lvling process so hiting for example 50 is like 8 min. Every 1 shoud know what i mean.
Its not the best solution but its the fastest one to implement to the game ( i think im not a programer i dont rly know what you got to do to make it work xP ).

Sounds like an Anti-Cheat system to find Altered/Changed files.
Right now I wonder if a Captcha would be valid solution for this… like… Seriously… a 4 letter captcha or 5 per shout.
