Sick of bad buff priority table mechanics

Ok so if I PAY ~3k for buff I don’t want my paid buff to get replaced for ANY other buff even worse for those ‘‘supports’’ that will buff you once in the whole run with a 30 seconds buff just to get you screwed… so what’s the point on buying the buff in the first place?

In case you don’t end up partying with a priest.

Hey, at least the archers aren’t spamming their party wide move while shooting buff

Well, Fencers would take that buff quite happily as it gives evasion.

Yeah so if I get to party with a ‘‘priest’’ 3 times it’s just a waste of ~10k silver? No thanks and by the way those ‘‘priest’’ will never rebuff and barelly use heals

So,

1: don’t buy buffs before w/e group content you’re doing
2: your healer doesn’t know how to heal

What level range are you anyway?

If it’s that big of an issue, only buy buffs when you solo. Or stick to Squire weapon buff since it can’t be overwritten.

“MY” healer? i dont choose people i play with in daily

I BUY BUFF because i want BUFF and if I PAY buff i dont want ANY other buff on me… hard to understand?

So tell them not to buff you.

does nt work, this is nothing for me to solve… a single line of code is enough

" IF THE BUFF IS PAID THEN DO NOTHING" that would do

Oh, cool you can code?

There’s a way to get into the Lua files. I’m sure they would greatly appreciate some actual code feedback to prevent Spell Shop buffs from being overwritten.

I’m just here to play video games.

Have a good time, and it’s okay to chill out now and then. :sparkling_heart:

LOL yeah thats always been a problem for me… I would buy full buffs + aspersion, have super defense enough to take 1 dmg off all mobs, get into a random party then get rebuffed with some 4 minute buff with regular defense and I end up dying

Yeah, it’s rather annoying actually. I personally love to have on Sacrament for the extra damage line as the game feels slow without extra lines when AAing, and for some reason whenever you enter an intance Sacrament is always the first to go when you go over your maximum buff count without Daimo on (I have no idea why its coded to show up as first regardless of the order you bought the buffs in). At the end of the day, if I lose it, I lose it. No point in crying over that ~3k, I’ll get it back in the mission anyway.

Would be nice if there’s a buff lock or something so they would not get replaced or overwritten.

I don’t know about Aspersion, but I just did a quick in-game test with my own Priest’s Blessing and Sacrament and buying buffs from a Pardoner.

  • Buying the buffs first, my self buffs did not override them at all.
  • Buffing myself first, the Pardoner’s buffs overrode mine.

So Priests replacing your 1hr Sacrament/Blessing/Aspersion with 4m/1m versions should not be a problem. Now, if your issue is with the buff count and those other random buffs knock off your 2h buffs, then you might want to consider investing in Daino scrolls for when you randomly get partied with buff heavy classes.

I think that would do the job.

When you have a buff active, you can “lock” it. Unless you unlock it, whenever you have that buff active, it cannot be overwritten.

Yea it’s too simple, pardoner buffs could simply be placed in the 2nd buff slots like how the squire food buffs are. There is already some kind code regulating 2 different buff lines and the buffs you pay for could have simply been placed in the second slot.

This could very well have intentional as a feature, but I don’t want to think that they intended a buff that you bought to be replaced by a buff cast on you by a party member. That’s my speculation ofc.

The problem with putting Pardoner buffs in the 2nd line is that they do not detract from your buff limit. This would make Priests pretty ineffective except for Spell Shop. And how would it behave if a Priest casts the same buff in the 1st line.

They could implement a way to not allow bought buffs to be pushed off, but it would take work and designing methods that aren’t there.
They could add flags, and have the code check for flags and change its behavior accordingly, but there would be lots of bugs.
They could have specific 2nd line buffs detract from your buff count limit, leaving them unable to be overwritten while not stealthily increasing your buff limit, but this could have tons of bugs.

They honestly should focus on other parts of the game first.

10k? Is your level by any chance below 100? cos’ even the lvl50 dungeon gives a rough 15-25k silver. Silver isn’t an issue once players starts Mercenary daily missions.

So at first you say the spell shop buffs is in case you don’t party with a priest and then you say the spell shop buffs being in second buff slot would make priests ineffective. Well with that logic, we can say that spell shop is ineffective since those buffs can be overwritten by ANY buff, too include Swift Step as you’ve mentioned before. Sure we can simply not use spell shop if we plan to party up but you’ve already said that spell shop is there in case if you do party and there is no priest around so…

QQ for priest, barrier scrolls pretty much killed any reason to paladin aside from the costume.

They can simply make it to where sacrament cast by a priest will not overwrite sacrament from spell shop. Don’t make it seem like it’s too different when theyve already coded 2 separate buff slots. This could simply be an oversight on their end, it’s more of a minor nuisance imo right now when things like the party bug is still around. But I simply think they didn’t think it all the way through at first, like many other things in the game.

Yea I would like those paid buffs to stay on and it does not get overwrite by same buffs thou it does gets knocked off by reflect shield, swift step, revive, stone skin, divine might, quicken and haste most of the time.
Daino scroll does fix it but once u forgot to reuse it when it runs out, bye bye buffs…
