Hard to blame Dausos for doing this. The level gap is just too high and he’s a meelee class. He can’t just go yolo and die repeatedly with one hit. Your team happened to have no healer, too.

Can he really leech exp? I as a sw experience this before but still continue to contribute tiny dmg. It come with a cost of dying few times though and my ranking went off chart, not even 5th
Dude, he’s a Tank character at least he could’ve tryed something, i have a Peltasta 3 (squire right now) and when that happens, i just aggro the boss and let the teamates kill it, even if i just run on circles

that acctually annoys me a little, even if you try to Aggro the boss, 5 seconds after using swashbuckler the dps party members end up taking the aggro away from you and you are unable to complete the roll of tanking having to wait for your swashbuckler cool down to End and re do it once again [with no garanteed chance of Taking the aggro back.

No one is a tanker 16 levels lower the boss.
