i always think that F2P is a suicide path for ToS.
B2p is suicide.
The yonly need to make f2p not pay to really play or pay to win.
All games with b2p and subscription change overtime to other models.
And GW2 even is double… b2p + cash shop.
Why the heck people don’t use the search function i wonder? This was discussed before and not only 1 time.
Hype train and new gen without the need to use search functions.
YES, 200% B2P all the toxic f2p kids community, scammers, gold sellers, cheaters, bug abuse, and bots out, totally yes. GW2 model perfect for me.
Why would B2P make ToS any better?
Do you want fewer freemiums?
A smaller playerbase?
More money spent on the game initially?
I hope it’s not because you just played one decent B2P title and suddenly think that B2P is the way to go because many F2P titles have failed.
I think that everyone who likes pizza deserves a slow death.
Feel free to elaborate, because if you don’t, it’s about as reasonable as my pizza-liking genocide.
Well.
I don’t think so…
I’d buy ToS. For real. But I’m 1 in every 3 players wanting to play this. Some people like to expend money slowly and gradually. They’ll be the ones to buy new costumes, premium features and other cash stuff along the way. They’ll keep the game alive.
I don’t think ToS will die that way. Also, as long as they keep neat stuff coming (and, maybe, even open Account Services like character transfer and charge for it), they’ll have a nice profit.
Neither need nor ability.
WoW goes even further, its probably the only MMO with every type of business model: B2p, Cash shop, cosmetics, subscription and in-game currency.
I guess you never actually played GW2. even before it went F2P gold sellers, cheaters, all of that existed. it’s just that the community was generally nicer (not by much) and ArenaNet didn’t like delinquents anyway so it was easy to take them out.
even now that the core game is F2P it’s not really that bad lol.
did, know what talk about :’)
GW2 … ruined they’re promise.
Change on the map?
Yeah for 2 minutes, then the cycle begins again.
Everything is one big repeating of cycles.
I had wished for lasting changes… npc’s getting stuff back or fighting villages.
But they needed to make it fair for all…
PoE says hi on top of their mountain of money
Ninja’d
It seems we think alike xD
Why does a thread like this need to pop up at least once a day?
It is so unlikely that they will change their business model this close to release, so please.
Let us just stop ‘3’
No.
ToS is a great game, but not nearly good enough to warrant going B2P. It definitely doesn’t seem like it’ll make enough profit to sustain itself, and would probably end up with a pretty bad cash shop for a B2P game to stay afloat.
Would I like it to go B2P? Sure. But I definitely don’t believe it’d do well.
to everyone who disagree :
no, F2P is suicide, theres so many factors that will make F2P a bad choice, just 2 example for me, its cheater/hacker, just think about it, if it F2P they free to cheat/hack the game, and with how everyone got hyped by this game, ofc hacker/cheater will come to hack this game to gain profits.
next is bot, i dont need to tell u how is bot so fuckin bad in F2P game.
so, use ur head bruh, i dont need to tell the obvious reason right ?
but, who am i to judge ? im just a mere player, lets just wait and see…
I agree with you, but i’m not really sure if b2p is the right decision because every single content they will add are going to cost you money as a DLC. Some areas will be forbidden for you unless you buy the new Memedungeon of Memegoons so you can level up from 225 to 300, etc…
I think Path of Exile f2p model is the best i’ve ever seen (you only buy cosmetics, and that’s all) but sure, unless IMC do something against hackers and bots we will read a ton of messages of goldsellers (and a lot of channels will be full because people are botting 24/7 in those zones).
just cause something is B2P doesnt mean that any expansions need to cost anything.
while B2P might solve some of the problems, ToS doesnt have enough features and content for b2p to be viable.
If you compare it to games such as BDO, ToS would never be able to compete as a b2p game.
And IF they decided to go with b2p, it would probably take another 1.5-2 years for it to have enough features and content for it to be viable, and at that point ToS would have already fallen off the radar
