I just realized I plan on maining two characters that are only viable in pvp, and can’t really solo pve that much efficiently.
Should I be making a pve class at all?

You have 30 1:1 trades each month with token. Probably team counter.
That means you can hardly farm for your pvp char anyways. Rest is up to you.
IMO, pvp is not viable right now. It’s still an OBT and classes are still very unbalanced, so it might be not as fun as you expect.
I myself will be mostly focusing on PvE at first, and when they balance the classes I will start to think about the PvP builds.
That’s thoroughly agreeable, but I’m too scared of making 3 classes, because they I’ll start up alt-itus again. So then I’d have to give up my 2nd pvp chara and make my pve chara my 2nd main. See what I mean?
Was hoping someone would love to hop on board with my shenanigans :x
make a pve character for money, then pvp if u want. 2 characters.
pvp doesn’t give any great benefits except rankings to my knowledge.
pve focused builds can go through pve content quickly while pvp characters might have a harder time. if u have one solid pve character you can support as many pvp characters as u want.
that is, if u can somehow trade funds between your characters.
if you cant trade money or items between characters at all, you might as well play the character u enjoy the most as your main, good at pve or not.
play whatever you want, pve or pvp doesnt matter if you have fun,
Besides, you can always make new chars as your desires
This game isn’t very conducive to making alts since you can’t trade your stuff around and the team storage is limited and reduces potential.
Really really stupid game design honestly, given that this is the kind of MMO where you’re supposed to be encouraged to make alts.
Anyhow, I would focus on making a PvP character (if you really want to focus more on PvP) even if it’s harder at PvE. For the reasons above, a PvE character doesn’t do much to serve a PvP character, it’s not like an RO merchant that farms zeny for your main. A PvP character gets basically carried from 1-230 anyway and that’s where the real grind starts. By then you should be R7 and can begin to PvP seriously.
Ohhh well said, I’ll definitely stick to my 2 pvp then.
