Should I keep my Miko path? Cleric C3 > Priest C1 > Pardoner C1 > Miko > Plague Doctor C2

Hi, I’m currently making a Miko, still at rank 4 and I will be stopping it at rank 5 class level 15 and wait for Miko.

  • Cleric C3 > Priest C2 > Miko > Plague Doctor C2
  • Cleric C3 > Priest C1 > Pardoner C1 > Miko > Plague Doctor C2
  • Cleric C3 > Priest C1 > Diev C1 > Miko > Plague Doctor C2
  • Cleric C3 > Priest C1 > Paladin C1 > Miko > Plague Doctor C2

At Rank 8, having only Cleric C2 without some invul, Ress or whatever good sort of damage mitigation seem to not be enough. At Rank 9 most likely no Cleric will be able to keep the whole party alive without Cleric 3 or Cleric 2 > Priest at least.

That’s when I came up with this build and I think it offers some sort of very end-game support, but I’m still not 100% convinced on my Pardoner rank, there are pretty good options and I would really like to know more opinions from experienced Cleric players about it.

My thoughts when I created this build:

Guardian Saint + Gohei (is this the skill that blocks incoming attacks from Miko?) = Full Tanker party setup, you can have your DPS swordie unleash all his R8 combo without taking a single damage.

+2 level all skills 100% uptime, Cleric C3 can do +1 (10~12 skills every 27 sec is 100%), Miko can do +1, +2 levels to end game skills, even skills like Pass, Joint Penaly, Haste or any skills with very good level scaling (base damage or number of hits).

Very versatile for most party compositions, DE level 7 = +14 seconds to freeze, serpentine or anything like that, also with DE level 7 and BDS level 7/12 you can come VERY close to 100% uptime on it, just imagine, all you have to do is to keep “re-spreading” it and BDSing whos left, if anyone’s left. 17 Heal tiles (without Gem) + Ress is very good support in survivability even at ranks 9/10, unless mobs hit 199999 and the only way out is 100% uptime invul.

Very good DPS set:

Level 17 Heal Bomb = 34 x 2 OH = 68 Holy Hits with INT scaling every 22 seconds.

Level 17 Cure = 42 Holy Hits with 1,2x INT scaling every 27 seconds.

Level 7 Hamaya = 3 Holy hits/sec with ~1,2k base damage during ??? seconds, seems pretty solid for R6.

Level 11 Inci = +agni = 2 hits/sec with ~200% damage each, ~1,8k base damage. 100% uptime.

Level 7 BDS = 3 hits/sec, 1,6k base damage. ~95% uptime.

**Holy hits have no weakness and is very strong against 60%+ of the bosses in game, which are Dark property.

So please, if anyone cares explaining what circles would you trade and for what reasons, I really need some insights before I invest in this character (I got 2 Dark themed toons and want this “holy” themed toon (though PD doesn’t look very holy to me).

anyone? Priest C2 for Revive?

Really trying to figure out a R9~10 Miko > PD 2/3 build.

Priest 2 Revive is useful if you need to stay alive. If you are the only cleric in party, you die = no more ress. You would have to use a soul crystal if possible.

Pardoner discern evil is difficult to use when you party with randoms. If they apply the debuff again, the duration will refresh to its original duration time (lower than a discerned duration time).

Divine might & Simony cure to stack extra cure burst on bosses or objectives.

For the posted build, I would recommend lowering Monstrance to level 1 unless you prefer the long animation delay of level 4.

As for your Rank 5 pick:

I’ve played both Priest2 and Pardoner

For Pardoner:
I’ve found DE to be most useful if:

A) You’re fighting a boss with other debuff classes.
B) You’re using mic communication to let your party know.

But even then, I’m personally not too impressed with Pardoner’s DE specifically because of the overwrite. The MDEF buff is negligible with low SPR–on a side note IMC did say something about improving the use of SPR for cleric skills.

For Priest 2:
Level 5 Mass Heal is extremely underwhelming, but it has its uses.
Revive is the main reason you would stop here, but honestly, sometimes you’ll find that people just aren’t dying enough. I suppose you could focus your heal bomb on DPS when revive is up.

If I had to choose between Pardoner vs Priest 2 I would probably ask myself who I am playing with regularly. In my case, my partner is a no con dragoon c2. This brings quite the dilemma since both classes would work with them. But I know my partner has a habit of face tanking so I would definitely edge it to the Priest 2. Also, in my case, the times i would use DE (bosses), are also the times I would prefer to dance. Thus, in my book Priest 2 would win over Pardoner as i could cast revive and just focus on dancing.

But what about Diev or Paladin?

They seem pretty holy if you ask me. Diev has goddesses and Paladin just screams holy. Might be a good idea to list pros and cons for these two classes too. I can’t speak about Paladin though since i’ve never played it. Just some thoughts though, hopefully other people can provide some input on a good Rank 5 filler for you

Edit:
If i were to PVP, I think I would prefer Pardoner over Priest 2. If I were to take this build to Earth Tower, I know the newer content will have Raise which pardoner would also be useful for, but then again you could always buy reversi scrolls.

Why did you take Deprotected Zone? It reduces the Def of enemies per tick, so since yours lasts only a few seconds (6-10), it will only reduce the defence of monsters inside by 16 up to 210 =6-20 defence. Also, when the skill ends or the enemy leaves the AoE, the def stack debuff is gone, so it’s basically useless to skill it if you don’t put at least 9 points into the skill.

Guardian Saint needs a higher skilllevel if you want to utilize it. The skill got buffed amazingly in KTOS, reducing the damage taken by the person the skill is cast upon by 50% instead of 25%.
You also can reverse the skills function via attribute, enabling you to take the damage for someone instead the other way around. The deciding factor is that the skill only lasts for a few hits[ i.e. the “Charges” mentioned in the skill description] and has a high CD time of 90 seconds.

I’d suggest to take it to lvl 5 for 15 hits [up to possibly 21 or maybe 24, if the gem to up the skill actually exists]until Guardian Saint wears off (3 hits per skill level = only up to 9 hits in your build if Hoki Broom actually works on Guardian Saint; if not it’s just 6 hits with DM within 90 seconds).

About Miko:
A.f.a.i.k. the skilllevel of Gohei only increases the damage the stick deals to enemies when it hits them (to remove their buffs), so putting more points into it is pointless.
Hoki Broom seems to create practically circles on the ground that increase the skilllevel of skills cast within them; however, they last only a short time (5 seconds+1 second per skilllevel if I got it right), so having a low level here is useless.
Clap is currently bugged(?) in KTOS, so we don’t really know what the skill should do. Based on the description it should prolong the duration of magic circles by 5 seconds per skilllevel, but we can’t say anything for sure yet.
Might not be as useful in your build, unless it prolongs Hamaya or Hoki Broom duration later on.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I’m really more into taking Priest C2 right now.

Would this be good?

I still have a few doubts though:

  • Is high level monstrance’s cast really that long? This build biggest con might be how few debuffs it got, my thoughts were Monstrance level 10 would help a lot on crowd debuff since it has such short CD.

  • The skill that raises holy/meelee damage by 50~70% is Kagura Dance?

  • How is the new version of Guardian Saint aimed at my target?

  • What is Miko’s damage negation skill? Broom?
