Shinobi - The class should be more true to himself

My guess is they didn’t even know what they were using back then, probably found some nuts or seeds and grind them and EUREKA. Maybe, who knows… But incense leftover does work, I guarantee that.

The only point that OP made sense was [quote=“Athem, post:29, topic:214659”]
Let me guess. You were there in the feudal era and you know the hidden part of history.

which I obviously wasn’t.

that is whole new territory not to mention copyright problems do not think that will ever be possible. the ninja thing is possible but u cant literally take characters from other places and call them your own. so imc cant either.

lol you sound stupid. its a game he wants to be a ninja he can be a ninja he wants to offer his opinion and knowledge of ninjas hes free too. lol but no reason to be a troll just saying darlin

okay in my eyes. yes the shinobi’s should be separate from the swordsmen branch but its not my game. just like i think melee clerics and magic based clerics should be separate with different base attacks but that’s not likely to ever happen.but i also believe there is more then one type of something. as you will find a ninja who specializes in throwing stars and one in daggers or one in kunai. so i think there are ninjas who could specialize in spear just as in sword variety is possible it is not written in stone that they can only use one specific type of weapon.

But you still need some pepper, and it wouldn’t grow in nature in Japan. So the only way to spread dried pepper powder to ninjas is that someone has to grow it first, then someone has to have the info that it hurts somewhat when it gets into your eyes. So yes, you’d need to farm it to some degree for it to become available enough that someone comes up with an idea to use it for such purposes. Japan is pretty mountainous country with multiple different islands and less roads back then. Something like a new plant to grow for freeze bite medicine and ornamental purposes (and for spice later, of course) doesn’t spread that fast. You need both information and seeds to spread to new areas before it’s available there.

Read through the entire thread, you can’t tell how snobbish OP was despite having the wrong info unless you read it :expressionless:

No one said he can’t express his opinions, him creating the thread already proves it. It’s just that he got debunk real hard with his “I am ninja lover, I own a ninja, you guys don’t know nothing” attitude.

The main issue with the pepper deal, along farming it, is where they even get it to begin with, japan took YEARS to get on track with the techonology of Europe, they barely had some basic gun tech for a good chunk and China was quite close. (This is here to point how closed japan was, not really relevant to the topic)
Japan’s… ‘‘bubling’’ I guess is a way to put it, is the main issue here rather than the usage of some itchy powder itself, there’s plenty of things that can irritate one’s eyes. Pepper is just the one we know the most today and thus the one we think of first.

Lol only you, nyappa and Jariu are on the pepper topic, I could care less knowing any powderish stuff works fine. Be it sand or dust.

I jsut wanted to comment on it while I wait for some thing to load on the 3DS tbqh, this topic is pretty much dead on the base argument.

This. I only used that red pepper part as an example to show how shallow ground work the writer of that wikipedia article has done. Some other parts sound pretty hard to believe and unpractical too. So chances are they have nothing to do with real history and are just fiction of one fanboy who decided to write a wikipedia article about that subject.

I’ve encountered so much crap on wikipedia that I don’t even bother to correct them anymore, unless the subject is about some field of science I have knowledge about.

But it can’t be farmed if it didn’t even exist in Japan in the first place. Red pepper arrived there through Portuguese merchant ships so late that there was hardly any ninja stuff going on anymore.

So that part of the article has to be blatant bullshit in the current form.

Obviously, it’s some magical kind of ninja pepper that only grows near the mountain springs of the glorious nation of Japan!

Just give it a rest man, Wikipedia/10.

Shinobi traditionally used weapons that were easy to conceal. Because they were stealthy assassins.

In this game do you stealthily assassinate your enemies?

They used what they could get their hands on to get the job done.
I cant believe any shinobi worth anything would use pistols tho…they kind tell everyone inside of a mile that you just used one.

Lol, a Ninja with a Katana. About as historical as pistol using Ninjas, that.
