read title, do it asap IMC, it’s just silly that i have no way to give my alts some silver and that i have to buy stuff to give to my alts to sell on them…come on
Agree , it’s a pain in the ass to start with zero silver with every char , every single game has either a bank, mail or the option to store money on your team/account Storage.
can’t be done.
or at least not without changing how some things work.
so first off any character you make gains all the collections of the other characters, this leads to any new character i currently own getting 20k silver from achievements immediately on the merits of collections alone.
if I could share it my alts i could in theory make a ton of alts and just keep transferring that 20k silver.
Guild Wars 2 added an account-wide wallet a year or 2 after it was released, it was very well received.
I hope they implement something similar here.
true, but this can easily fixed with a level requirement’s for achievments, like lv. 50 for example.
No thanks. /20characters
that would be the best way to do it
Then not only can it be done, it should be done…I don’t get how some pushovers think “it’ll change thangs” is an excuse for not doing something…the silver per character is stored in 1 table entry.
All they would need to do (with the server off for 24 hours…ugh) is run a script that goes through your family’s characters, add their on hand silver together, place the total in a new family-centric column, and kill the old entry column. Slight engine changes would be needed from that point to make each family member pull that number instead of an individual number.
And it wouldn’t take them more than a week to get the project ready before the 24 period.
And just the same, they can disable family-wide rewards on collections…
This isn’t a shut-system, they have the source code…
We’d need to ask the publisher if that’s true. Some developers will give source code, but with propietary encrypted files that the developers can’t divulge because they didn’t write it.
Not sure how what I said makes you come to the conclusion that it should be done.
My point was that it can’t be done under the current mechanics, it would instantly lead to a very efficient silver farm.
That is nothing to do with whether it should happen, though on that point I don’t see cross account silver trading as essential, the gear is lvl bound so it’s not like they can get much use out of 4 millions silver immediately, and any gear that they could use you can buy on your main and trade it over.
What exactly is gained from this and is it worth potentially losing the achievement system being character based?
