With the upcoming patch, that will increase a lot the armors defense, the game is going to change a little. I have some doubts, for a Sadhu PD char oriented for PVP/GVG, which one is going to be the best set: Plate or Cloth? Which one is going to give more suvirvability on TBL on this meta?
This will depend on luck, your base and substats as well as your equipment.
If you’re going for Survivability, you’ll most likely get a lot of CON.
If you have a shield and enough CON, chances are high that you’ll end up with a moderate to good blockrate, which grants a lot of protection against physical attacks.
Because of the recent armor changes on KTOS, the best overall investment would be cloth armor, because of the high amounts of physical defence you gain by wearing a shield while the amount of additional magic defence is pretty limited.
Negating magic damage is also pretty hard as you can’t evade or block it.
However, the most threat also comes from physical attackers (e.g. Lancer,Murmillio,Inquisitor), so the overall best option might not be the best option if 70% of the enemies you face are physical attackers.
You also have to remember that stacking one type of defence gives diminishing results the more you stack, so balancing the values with e.g. focus on Cloth but adding 3x 10* Zaura cards to boost your physical defence or Plate with 3x 10* Nuaele cards for additional magic defence might be favorable in case you meet a mixed damage dealer team.
So best option is to study the TBL rankings, the favorite player builds and Class frequency to get a feeling which Classes are more likely to appear/kill you more often and then develope the corresponding type of defence.
Last but not least, remember the attack types used primarily, since armor also features weaknesses and can be switched in advance to avoid bonus damage；
Cloth is weak against Bow,Pistol and Slashskills while Plate is weak against Strike (Murmillio,Inquisitor!) and Cannon(rare).
