Screw your meta [Highlandelero]

Templar is a placeholder class in this build, until R8 gets revealed.

This build summed has the purpose of having a really high strike-damage output, as well as being tanky and filled with decent CC (For pvp purposes). This build will focus on rotating strike-type attacks within 10 seconds to make most use of Slithering and High kick debuffs.

This build will use Mace and Shield mostly, 2-handed sword for faster level up in the early levels.

Skills:

Highlander (R2->R3)

Wagon Wheel - [Physical] - [Slash]

Lv1: Knock up CC.

Cartar Stroke - [Physical] - [Strike :coffee:]

Lv5: Having it at higher levels will have its cast increased and the damage won’t be much different, in this build the faster I am able to deal damage, the better.

Crown - [Physical] - [Strike :coffee:]

Lv8~10: Strike-type attack that kills the target’s INT and SPR…leaving it at high level due to the duration (for pvp purposes) and average damage…unless proven unworthy.

Cross Guard

Lv1: I don’t really know why I’m adding a single point to this.

Moulinet - [Physical] - [Slash]

Lv5: Avarage Slash-type attack, why not use it when Slithering and Highkick are on cooldown?

Skyliner - [Physical] - [Slash]

Lv5: Why not?

Crosscut [Physical] - [Slash]

Lv3: The skill itself doesn’t seem to do much damage, bleeding is cool though.

Rodelero (R4->R5->R6)

Shield Charge - [Physical] - [Strike :coffee:]

Lv1: Hilarious CC.

Montano - [Physical] - [Slash]

Lv1: Hilarious CC times 10.

Targe Smash [Physical] - [Strike :coffee:]

Lv0~1: Targe Smash is Rodelero’s main damage dealing skill, but since taking Highlander provides me enough Strike-type damage I can pass this average but unforgiveably slow skill.

Shield Push [Physical] - [Strike :coffee:]

Lv15: Defense wrecker skill (-225 def at lv15).

Shield Shoving [Physical] - [Strike :coffee:]

Lv5: Okay damage and okay CC. Might consider moving levels from Shield Push to this.

Shield Bash [Physical] - [Strike :coffee:]

Lv10: Amazing damage, animation and CC.

Slithering [Physical] - [Slash]

Lv3: Required to this build become somewhat relevant. Give immunity to magic and makes you deal +100% strike damage to targets with the debuff.

Shooting Star [Physical] - [Slash/Soon to be Strike :coffee:]

Lv5: Mediocre skill as it is on iToS but it has received quite some love on kToS recently.

High Kick [Physical] - [Strike :coffee:]

As important as Slithering, but with great damage. The debuff also makes the affected receive +100% strike damage.

??? (R7) - TBD

Might consider Highlander 3 if R8 is good.

I like it! But pelt has more strike abilities, though not as strong as catar stroke maybe.

If you are using shield, why not go all in and get pelt? :slight_smile:

Because this is the ‘screw your meta’ build, which peltasta is forbidden.

I have a Pelt 2 -> Rode in orsha and while Peltasta offers a lot of support as well as tankiness, I find it quite lacking damage-wise.

I need something in-between.

It’ll work fine.
Rodel and Highlander mix well outside of Cross Guard.

Alternatively you could do
Highlander, Barb, Rodelero C3.
Picking up Carter 5, Wagon 5, Crown 5, Helm Chopper 5, Cleave 5 and this would be the one build where Stomping Kick 5 can do damage.

Hell you might find a hidden skill interaction while you do it since the combinations are so rare.
If you pick up Dragoon though its pierce effects can work well with the Cross Guard you picked up and it’ll give you two new weapon types. Seems like a lot better placeholder than Templar.

I’d love to run this build but I think two rodeleros would be a waste on my part :stuck_out_tongue:

How about this?
HL1->Barb1->Rod3->Fen1.

2 pierce debuffs
2 strike debuffs
2 slash debuffs (if we get ktos patch)

Though one of the pierce debuffs will require weapon swap.

I have been looking at something like this for a while now, but I don’t like the idea of swap, so maybe pelt instead of hl for me.

@Delcas
Thank you for the feedback. I will halt the leveling on this build once I get to Rodelero 3 class 15, and wait until R8 gets revealed to figure out what I’m going for next.
I won’t be getting templar in this build, I just left it as placeholder. :stuck_out_tongue:

@patrik_lennon

I have considered getting barbarian in this build but I think that Highlander provides more damage to my build.

I don’t like fencer in this build, I’d rather do HL1->Barb1->Rod3->Barb2 instead.

Hmm I can see what you’re trying point out… good reasoning btw I’d love to see this in actual play

I wouldn’t say it’s creativity, however I was thinking on a way of increasing catar stroke’s damage significantly, as well as avoiding Peltasta whatsoever.

Barbarian seems a good option alongside Rodelero if I want more stuns, but I think that High 2 is exactly what I need.

Stat build would you go for this build?

I haven’t thought of that much, but at first I’m going for DEX > STR > CON
