Screen freeze on Lodge

I’ve just started playing TOS and i encountered a small problem. When the intro ended the screen freezed, but the game was still going. I could click something, hear the music but screen appears to be frozen. When i decided to restart the game the screen freezes in Lodge, but the game is still going.
If anyone has a solution or the same problem please respond to this.

Steps to reproduce the issue :
1)Enter the server
2)Create character on empty lodge
3)Watch the intro
4)…
5)Screen freeze (and i think it goes back to lodge)
or
1)Enter the server
2)Screen freeze on lodge with already created character

System

  • CPU : Intel Core2 Duo CPU E6550 2.33GHz
  • RAM : 4GB
  • Graphics Card : ASUS Radeon HD 5450
  • OS : Windows XP
  • Country / Region (US-east/west) : EU

Just to make sure:

This ^

With this ^ is not really good, unless it is the x64 bits version.

And…

You are from EU and is trying to play on the US server?

What i can i say is to try install the components the game require:

  1. Install/run TOS on a PC with specifications matching the game’s system requirements

  2. Install Visual C++ (first, check what version of Windows your PC is running)

  1. Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x86) / 32-bit
  2. Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x64) / 64-bit
  3. Visual C++ for Visual Studio 2013 Redistributable
  1. Update your graphics card drivers and DirectX

If the above don’t work for you try the following:

Completely remove TOS from your computer and reinstall

  1. Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Uninstall Tree Of Savior
  2. Go to the drive where TOS is installed > Steam and delete the Tree Of Savior folder
  3. Reinstall TOS

I have the same exact problem… we have the same OS winxp…heres what i already tried (copy and paste from this link White Screen After Launching Game)

Tried running the client and steam as administrator
Turned off firewall
Turned off Anti Virus
Verified Integrity of files via Steam
Installed many .Net Framework updates
Updated my graphics card driver as well as sound, display, others
Ran the sfc /scannow through CMD with no errors in the DLLs
Updated Flash and enabled it on Internet Explorer (active x)
Updated Java
Updated Direct X
Updated Windows
Uninstalled and Re-installed both Steam and Tree of Savior
Tried deleting contents of the patch folder

none of them works… my only last option is to upgrade to win7 x64 will try later if this works.

What you can try before installing other OS is install Steam on other place outside of Program Files folder, mine for example is on a slave drive (F:\Steam) you can try install Steam on a C:\Games folder, just copy/move your steamapps folder before uninstalling Steam to not lose your installations.

Google how to move Steam installation to other location in case of any doubts.

I’ve already tried that not only once… and it doesnt work still the same :frowning:

Welp, tried all suggestion mentioned above and nothing works.
Fortunately I’m really patient so I’ll wait or I’ll work on making better PC.

I’m from EU trying to play on the EU server, but the issue appears in every server.

The last resort is to upgrade your OS, ToS still need lots of fixing and it may have some issues on some machines with XP on it, also, you aren’t using your whole 4GB on a 32 bits system, so it is a waste of memory.

UPDATE: Finally fix the screen freeze on lodge by installing fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1… thanks for the kind help! (gonna miss my winxp :()

Yeah, unfortunately XP is really outdated for some stuff.

But i can tell you Win10 is the new XP, didn’t found a problem so far with it and it manage the memory really well.
