šŸ™€ Will leather sets & mastery become more useless starting at 180+ maps even for evasion builds?

100Dex at lvl50 leather mastery will only last you till…more or less levels130s(dependent on your boots and dex and evasion bonuses from other gear and skills), sufficient Con(between 60-100) is still a mandatory as players progress in the game.
I’m surprised you can still rack up dodges with only 100dex in evac are their accuracy that low? too lazy to grind there yet.

I tried pointing out magic can’t be avoided with leather’s evasion bonus unless it’s tile based or thru certain methods, but TS’s latest post now made me confused too.

U only need the highest leather boots for evasion… with 3piece plate(3piece HP mastery from plate), n a full magic defense set of cloth(4piece mastery for sp&mdef) to tank magic.

Unless u got a full spr mates/paladin n spam barrier scroll(magic deal 1dmg lol)

AFAIK only cloth (Vine boots) and leather (Wind Runner) has movespeed bonuses at the moment. Nothing for plate which I think makes sense.

You need to change your armor type according to your grind location.
Im playin high dex dopp 2, of course my main armor are leather set, but if i counter enemies with pierce atk, i just change my upper to plate (1pcs) and the other 3 remain leather there, your armor are considered plate, so you wont get that extra +50% damage from pierce(stab), and you still get evasion bonus from 3 sets leather.

VS magic type, of course full cloth set.

Try using Kevlar, block almost everything :sunglasses:

Kevlar cant block 50BMG round dude!

Sw3>cata3>drag>lancer build here

Armor sets used: leather and cloth sets
Attributes: leather and cloth mastery only

Since im a pvp build…i dont bother to use plate set. As for leveling. I grind in mission and dungeons only…so yeah. Git gud

Almost, almost everything

Never knew about that, so only upper armor dictates armor type for players huh, advice taken.

Different strokes I guess.

In my experience, going full on an armor set seems more beneficial than going partial with just changing the top armor.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but the way I understood the following…

When equipped with 4 [Leather] armor pieces, your evasion increases from attributes by an additional 50%.

…is that at lv.50 max mastery you’d only get 75 bonus evasion in total.

Wouldn’t it be better if they made it a percentage (maybe 15%?) applied on top of your current evasion (base evasion from stats + equipment bonuses + pet if any)? This is why I think the leather mechanics needs to be reworked or improved.

I will run tests based on your tip though and see if there’s no significant difference between just changing the top armor and changing full sets.

yeah, only the top (upper). you can try it at town, duel with your friends.
ex. you use 3 pcs leather, and 1 plate upper. you wont get that +50% stab. vs pierce type.

my eva using full leather was 871, and if i change my upper to plate, my eva was 824.

Yeah lv.50 max leather mastery give you 75 evasion. (50 with 3 pcs)

They should give more effect to leather mastery too in my opinion.

I did some quick test and can justify that against high-accuracy piercing monsters it’s better to go full plate than just using the top armor (the rest being leather).

With just plate top armor:

Full plate:

Against low accuracy mobs maybe going partial will work or when there’s a mix of damage types (2 or more monster types in a group/map).

As a High Dex Character with maxed Leather attribute fighting close ranged but seldom melee, always playing together with a full plated RANGED partner, I can say:

As stated already, it depends on the situation:

PvP/Magic : everything dies to magic [or headshots in PVP hehehe]

Against large groups of non-magic mobs: Evasion is my best friend, not suffering as much as a plate user

Bosses: The very most boss attacks so far are dodgeable, so yeah (I saw +200 people dieing from the mineloader boss and its nasty aoe. My dodge nowadays saves me all the time from it)

Dodge is always something which needs a certain (high) amount to be effective. It sucked until around lvl 100. I could start to rely more n more later on. Curently at lvl 180, I’ve heard that the real thing comes at you starting in the 200s and I am eager to see what I have to change what can’t be done through tactic.

yeah, you just need to switch between, or mix, depend on the situation.

sooo…

this are physical attacks?_?
