🙀 How other MMORPGs survived even with bots

…heck, even the players themselves botting their own chars (e.g. RO).

How?

  1. Decent spawn rates

  2. A lot of weekly/monthly/yearly events and other stuff to do besides leveling and acquiring gear (massive PVP/GVG/War stuff, boss spawns in towns, etc.)

  3. Unrestricted trading

  4. Option to get level-boosted (e.g. boosted by a friend with support char, paying another player to boost/tank or leech xp from him, access to maps with high-level, kite-able/immobile monsters and getting big exp, etc.)

  5. Decent gameplay experience (less-to-no lag, OK FPS even when a lot of shit is happening on-screen, etc.)

  6. “not bad” class balancing (I know this aspect will never be perfect in any game) - where every class actually has a role to fill-in (except for weirdly unique builds) and when you ■■■■ up with your build it’s not entirely going to be trash.

Anyone can add more? Sorry if I’m really sounding like a broken record here.

It seems like IMC is tooooooo focused on the bot problem that they forget some (most?) of the “fixes” are negatively affecting the actual players.

Why not focus on actually improving the game FOR the players? Am I missing something here?

should we return to iRO then?

Lol.

RO = Dragon Breath/Arrow Storm spam.

@Kazeken @Anarth Shhhh I just want an excuse to bot. LMAO

EDIT: Srsly, it’d be fine if they start even with just 1, 3 and 5.

give me RO with ToS graphics and I’m sold

It’s quite hard to return to game that’s based on 2d sprites in 2016. I loved RO but it’s quite hard to play it now despite how old it looks.

Although I may consider trying RO again after getting tied of that shithole that’s ToS is becoming more and more and devs don’t even bother to save that game but instead they release generic MMO that don’t even that good

I agree with all of that and it’s not even like their anti-bot measures are doing any good since there are high lvl bots with acceptable/readable names everywhere and they don’t give a damn.

All those restrictions put to combat bots only screwed up with us. lol

you don’t release the MMO outside of eastern areas and you barely have to worry about RMT/Bots.

If iRO was updated with better servers, movement options, and more animation frames all around… I’d be hard pressed not to play it.

the most critical problem are from bug, easy exploit and optimize

and IMC even allow legal bot with sorc
:joy_cat:

Shouldn’t number 1 be “Active GMs?” Ya know, those that aren’t just active to ban bots from a list of those reported by players (to make it look like they have a purpose), for only an hour (approximately) on each server, around Midnight CST?

Also add dont allow players to mess around with game files :sparkles:

No. I’M sorry for sounding like a broken record. Why?
