Savior, we need your help!

So I actually saw this image on 9gag and thought it describes ToS perfectly.

We are the rescuers of goddesses, destroyer of demon lords, revelators of revelations and future saviors of mankind. But every once in a while a NPC asks us to do some dirty second-hand job for them. We do it because, well, we get exp cards and because helping others is part of saving the world! (but mostly for the exp cards)

Post here the most silly and “unrelating to game storyline” quest you have done for a NPC!

I’ll start with mine:

  • In Shaton Farm, this guy asked me to walk across half of the map to get him a bucket full of water just because he was thristy!

This is the what i like about GW2 you only get these labor tasks at the start of the game until you establish your self as a hero. Then its off to save the world.

These quests have a place but they should be early lol.

I actually like the sidequests more. I don’t like MMOs with big “you’re the hero of the world” main quests. This is one of the reasons I loved Ragnaroka and Legend of Mana, I really liked how there were tons of different plot lines to explore, without a clear main goal. The linearity of the main quest is one of the things I dislike the most about Final Fantasy XIV and Tree of Savior.

Oh I’m not hammering on sidequests storylines. Some can be very interesting and fun. I actually enjoyed the quests in owl burial grounds: guiding souls to the owl statues and stuff (for example).

But there are some quests that are completely unusual and nonsense such as “Hey can you help me plant some crops in my farm?” and then “build fences around the crops!”

There’s that one quest where the guy was too lazy to walk 5 meters to open the pots so we have to do it for him.
