SAO fans should see this

Personally, I’m not an sao fan. But I’ve seen enough kiritokititokirito talk to know this might do some good.

So maybe now y’all should conserve your kiritokititobeaterkirito references and analogies so you don’t run out before the actual sao mmo comes out.

With how VR as a whole has been turning out so far, I can’t help but be skeptical that we’ll see even a prototype within the decade.

I’d love to be proven wrong though. I would love it so much.

Oh I think we’ll see something…
Nothing spectacular, but something

SAO is linear, everyone is a fighter class. gender locked account.

Yggdrasil (Overlord) is pay2win.

Grimgar is hyperealistic difficult, casuals wouldn’t bother to play. possibly genderlock account.

Eldertale(Log Horizon) is OPEN WORLD and SANDBOX!.

@Apple_Cider

tis probably just IBM VR jumping into SAO franchise for advertisement. its still visual based.

the lore SAO system Nervegear is more complex as it overides the sensory nerves to simulate the VR world within the brain not the eyes. thus you can live, breath, smell, and taste, and even feel pain and 16.5 pleasure. that is far too complex and dangerous aswell.

This! My very first thought when VR was announced as an emerging technology was:

“Oh my god I can play all the otome games with all the pretty boys! :kissing_heart:

It’s certainly exciting and if anything, more about proof of concept. Besides, everything needs to take a first step. I mean, not sure if anyone remembers but way back in 1995, a computer with 256mb was considered powerful.

As for a market, there is a definitely a market, just think about it - those who are growing up with these animes and these fascinations are going to be working adults in the next 10-15 years if not already. It may not be completely done by then, but who knows?

Full on dive technology/full VR technology probably won’t be around for another 40 years, maybe? But you know what? By then I’m going to be old enough that I won’t care if a SAO situation actually happens.
