Rogue and Scout Theorycrafting

A thread to discuss skill builds for people investing 2 or more circles into these two classes. I myself am honestly having a hard time choosing between the two. But for now, the progression I’m choosing is:

Archer --> Quarrel Shooter x2 --> Scout --> Rogue x2 or x3 (Whichever allows me to get Appraiser )

Rogue seems like the more interesting class to me at the moment, but after taking a closer look at Scouts skills I can’t help but think about skipping it for “Undistance” in their 2nd circle. I’ve also heard that “Flare Shot” is a very powerful skill at higher levels.

Though Rogue gets 4 new skills in their 2nd Circle as apposed to the Scout 1 new skill. Not to mention I think they would obviously make better use out of the Scout’s ability to Cloak.

I’ve been skimming about for videos, but to my surprise there honestly isn’t much that I can find for either class. What do you guys have in mind when it comes to builds?

i really like what scout c1 offers to archer builds
at this moment im guessing that scout skills work best with rogue and fletcher (which i did not get a chance to test)
below are my favorite combinations

archer1>quarrel2>scout1>rogue2
archer3>scout1>rogue2
archer3>scout1>fletcher2

can i get your input on why you chose to go archer1>quarrel2>scout1>rogue2 instead of archer3>scout1>rogue2 if that combination has been considered?

Honestly I like having utility a lot more than raw damage. I feel like damage can only go but so far, but utility is useful in tons of other situations.

People are focused on which skills are the best right now, when clearly everything is still subject to change. I think Quarrel Shooter skills far outshine Archers in everything BUT damage, and will probably get better over time/ranks for overall late game play. Especially in PvP, which I’m very much focused on.

Also I think Quarrel Shooter skills go very well together with Scout. 10 second stun + Flare Shot + Backstab? Little combos and what not I’ve been thinking of sound really fun.

And then there’s stuff like this as well.

Quarrel shooter: D. Pavise 4 - Caltrops 5 - Stone Pick 1 - Stone Shot 5
1- Stone shot: which is the % chance to stun? for players its the same? any stat to reduce stun duration (I hope no X_x)?
2- Stone picking: the amount of stones depends on the level of stone picking or you can pick according to the str you have? Stone Picking lvl1 is enough?

Sapper: Stake Stockades 5 - Conceal 1 - Punji Stake 4 - Detonate Traps 5
1- Detonate Traps: can explode magic circles but with those already activated it works? (Cleric Barrier)

Scout: Camouflage 4 - Flu Flu 1 - Flare shot 5 - Cloaking 5
1- Camouflage: at level 5 resists 25(?) attacks, no matter how much damage?
2- Flu Flu: level only affects the damage or the chance to inflict fear too?
3- Cloaking: you can perform actions like trapping or steal magic circles(Rogue skill) without be revealed?

Rogue: Sneak Hit 5 - Capture 10 - Burrow 4 - Evasion 5 - Lachrymator 1 - Backstep 5
1- Capture: works with the active magic circles?(Cleric barrier), how many times can be used the stolen skill?
2- Burrow: can aboid AoE skills?
3- Backstep: I hope it can kill people in pvp… Cloaking>Backstep - Stone shot (Stun)>BackStep…

Unfortunately, these are the only skills I have actual experience with. I can’t tell you much about the others.

But if you have LvL 1 Stone Picking, you’ll only be able to pick one Stone at a time. You’ll have to level it more if you wanna pick more up at once.

As for Stone Shot, it doesn’t tell you the exact stun %, but it’s VERY high from what I’ve experienced. I’ve seen it work in PvP and I have no idea if a stat can reduce the stun time.

As for Rogue, I know you can buff while you’re Cloaking. Saw it in a video.

Seen undistance used a few times, and it usually gets the person killed because scouts have low hp/defence. On top of this it doesn’t really keep your melee safe because most bosses have ranged attacks that do just as much damage.

However r1 scouts pretty useful, flu flu causes enemies around the affected enemies to target them. Cloaking is meh in pvp - people can still aoe you and its obvious to see a cloaked character (gigantic red blob). Burrow is significantly better but you can’t move.

From the rogues i’ve seen in cbt3 kr, its a strong class but it has a hard time actually doing its skills effectively due to melee range - might go well with hackapell (a mounted crossbow/dagger class) - when it comes out.

Is there any footage of this anywhere? I’d like to see it.

Probably one of steparus pvp videos has a scout using it, I dont have any personal footage.

I Think Undistance is too risky and you lose all your dps because you can not do anything else lol

In this channel the player play some pvp as a rogue, use cloaking and the enemy players can´t see him, but die with the AoEs XD

  1. i didnt go around testing stone shot so this is my impression
    i never noticed if the stun missed so i believe it lands if the skill lands but i did not test for exceptions (like if a level 50 quarrel shooter can land the attack on a level 100 monster but not stun it)
    from pvp videos it looks like its the same case
    i dont know if there is a stat that reduces the duration of a stun but there is a skill with immunity

  1. i believe camouflage at level 5 would resist 5 physical attacks regardless of damage
  2. for flu flu fear is part of the splash effect and levels increase the duration but an attribute may increase number of enemies affected within splash range
  3. not sure but i believe those actions will reveal you

You can store stones forever, not sure about stun chance, becomes an item in your inventory.

Camouflage blocks 25 hits at lv 5, you may only auto attack.

people can see you in cloaking, you are a red shadow, its useless for sneaking, but useful for damage buff

but maybe it’s a bug in pvp, in some videos you can see a headless silhouette

I haven’t seen a video of either effect, but that red shadow one sounds terrible.

If a skill is called Cloaking it should cloak you. I might just go Wugushi because of this.

when cloaked you look like a green shadow to allies and a red shadow to enemies

i assume conceal traps work the same way
