Rodelero viability for PvP/GvG?

So, I like tanking and I like CC. Where do Rodelero builds stand these days?

I was planning on SW>Pelt>x>Rode2>Fencer2. Rodelero seems like a lot of fun in PvP due to many CC skills and I really like having a shield on in ToS. Fencer seems the best (only) choice for reasonable damage output.

Most builds take Pelt2 at rank 3 but I don’t see many benefits. It seems I either take it for High Guard and more Swashbuckling or I take Highlander for Crown (good against magical mobs) and Cartar Stroke for some easy leveling. Cross Guard level 5 and low STR won’t help me and I don’t think more stun (Helm Copper) and Cleave debuff (Rodelero has many Strike skills and Fencer has Pierce skills) would help me. Would SW2 be viable for a little Restrain (since I don’t have Iron Hook, it could help landing Fencer skills) and more Pain Barrier uptime?

Put Cor1 in that build and you’re set. You can do Sw2>Pelt1>Rod1>Cor1>Fencer2. Might as well get as much CC as possible with a 20% restrain and have a longer pain barrier since the other ranks you can choose are limited for what your trying to do. Rod2 gets Slithering? Meh… Cor1 to seal the deal when any of your other ranks CC go through and burst down with Fencer.

Rode2 was for Slithering and Shield Bash (this one seems a lot of fun but I don’t know how effective it really is in practice – I laugh every time I read the skill description…). I do admit Sair1 is too good to not get in a CC oriented build though.
