Rodelero and Corsair

Many builds are broken because they don’t have a good choice at rank 3 and 4 (When we are not going to c3) but if rodelero were an option at rank 3 and corsair at rank 4… I think a lot of people will love it.

What would happen to barbarian/hoplite and cataphract? lol.

Barbarian is a catch-all class that gives you free melee attacks, and everything in Highlander but Cross-Guard is global too.

someone doesnt realise just how strong hoplite is at its rank, at almost every circle. and how good barb will be once kToS buffs come here and how it is still a strong r3 and r4 pick for sword-use and decent option for r5.

lance builds usually have hoplite at least c1, i dont remember seeing any players in game yet in my groups without such.
sword builds that dont go sword c3 for shinobi or highlander c3 for one cookie cutter build path will see barb due to its frenzy/warcry buffs being synergies with later class rank skills. but i see more sword-weilding swordies with barb than not, and usually barb2/3. also, once buffs hit barbs will be very strong especially in doppel builds to where they will be even more popular even vs highlander getting 0cd skyliner if they do.

rodelero, I have heard that it can compete if you build up to it with stacking strike debuff effects etc, but its more of a tanky choice than damage-based and it is less synergistic with later class ranks.

corsair at rank 4 would greatly improve its value as c2 would see a lot more play at r5 than r6. but, I think c1 needs a small buff and c3 needs a rework more than the class needs a rank position change.

I have a suspicion rodelero has some kind of hidden combo with either Barb or Hoplite.

I went Sword C3 - Rodel, but
Carter Strike, and Stomping Kick under a 200% bonus would make Carter Strike a 10x move with 2 overheat, Stomping kick a 3x move with 2 overheat, and Helm Chopper a 6x move with 2 overheat. Cleave on a stunned Enemy is 2.5x so… It seems Barb+ Rodelero has some potential damage.

Now I’m curious tbh.
Highlander, Barb, Rodelero C3.
You get Crown, Wagon Wheel and Carter Strike maybe 1 point in cross-guard if what I heard about C guard causing the pierce debuff if you have cross-guard, is true.

Bash, Wagon Wheel, Helm Chopper, is three solid forms of CC to start off with.
Technically better in a way then my Sword C3 - Rodel, and I stun a lot.

2x Carter Strikes under 200% bonus would definitely give you solid damage.
Say
Slithering
High Kick.
Helm Chopper (for stun)
Shooting Star (when Ktos makes it Strike)
Carter Strike x2.
Then Targe or Stomping.
That’s a decent rotation every 20s.

Just remember that the majority of rodelero skills require a shield equipped (all except 1 skill).

Its fine, everything but cross-guard for both Highlander,Barbarian and Swordsman are usable with all weapons, and all Hoplite skills work with a shield so outside of Cross-guard, everything is rodel/cataphract compatible.

ya, thats why rodelero can be comparable in damage if built right BUT, multihitting skill scale way way way better than 1-2 hits with modifiers the further your lvl and stats increase, unless of course the modifiers are large enough to overcome that and modifier the damage calculation as a whole rather than just the skill damage. this is why rode builds tend to be more tank oriented than damage when compared to the some of the rest of the swordie tree.

I don’t want to remove them just add more

well that would be one way to improve rode’s value i guess, just throwing it in with rank lower. however, theres only going to be so many classes so I assume that the makers are going to stick to 2 classes per rank per tree except for hidden classes which could pop up anywhere apparently.

speaking of, I feel like there should be an early rank hidden class somewhere, with an odd requirement (what if there was a r4 wizard class that required pyro1 and cryo1, and essentially did decent damage while doing some cc. or used wall/fireball mechanics like a kino but in a different way than just damage via multihits. omg what if it turned fireballs into the rolling snowball spell and turned ice wall into fire pillars. frozen targets get additional damage from fire and enchant fire has a chance to freeze target – sshhh frostfire mage dont care bout melting points)

I also thought about making a frost-fire mage - but I don’t have enthusiasm for starting a new char from 0 and another testing build xD
