Double Weapon Assault doesn’t scale with DEX so if you go autoattack build you literally do LESS DPS with DWA than basic attacks, which makes no sense since Hexen Dropper and Dust Devil both scale with DEX so it seems like the direction the class was being taken in. Without DWA you basically have no reason to invest in Jolly Roger either except to be a wannabe bad support that only works for archers.

Apparently you can equip a Pistol with just C1 now, so no need to go C3 just for a manamana or something. Pistol Shot ratio is quite bad for a single C3 skill. I can’t really see a reason to go C3 Corsair now, which sucks because it was already pretty bad before. Every change IMC makes to the game seems to make Corsair worse. Just rename the class Iron Hook and be done with it TBH.

Then go full str? Sw2-bar3-cor3 or sw2-HL3-cor3 full plate set etc. Max keling hook, put 9 points into hook. 1-2 point into devil dust cus its nerfed.

In a Full STR build DWA is going to be faster than AAing, and you only need 1 SP to use it as filler.

DEX only increases the speed of the main hand AA, since the subweapon follow-up has instant animation. Not that the build was not already RIP before the changes or anything~ :eyes:

I do think this is a bug since in the ktest database it stills says that you need rank 3.

The fact that DWA
-hit looses weapon damage type property
-has no damage boost modifier
-eats stamina per hit cycle
-each weapon hit doesnt get additional damage lines from sacra/cafri

Lets be honest Sairs right now are only good for buffing up the Archer DPS in the party, and get extra change via pillage.

now for everyone; corsair 3 still have up to close to 7k% in their main skills pistol shot; hexen;dust so even if bad with AA i would not say that he is RIP; since almost no other class outside of the best ones like doppel-highlander(in bleed enemy) have 7k% in their 3+ skills with low cd, he won’t be META nor the best ones, but who would have choice corsair for that anyway?

agreed, no point on going corsair now unless they make bunshins copy hexen but i doubt that would happen… well im ditching corsair for barb/doppel ranks now goodbye my ex-favorite class.

Well, that’s kindof because Swordsman suck in general now. Being a Doppel is like being the king of trash mountain at this point, meanwhile we’ve got wizards back up on top of their ivory tower looking down on us peasants now that mobs no longer have 5,000 magic defense. Also my swordies have to chug so many potions now just to hit things since reducing hits to 1 no longer exists, 100% dodge no longer exists, and the fact that you really have to just stand there and take a beating as swordsman adds all that damage up fast even if you’re only taking 500-1000 per hit.

well, i’m agree with you on that; but what i want to say is that even if dwa does not gain dexx speed, corsair is still one of the best options in the swordsman ranks right now; so if he is RIP 85% of all the other classes are in a far worse situation.
i’m myself in the middle of doing some tests here; won’t be perfect but i’m with 1k elemental damage on my AA corsair right now; and normally we would have 3 hit, if i add the new sacrament effect it goes up to 1,1k-1,2k i believe, and if i’m not mistaken blessing is back to all lines in the last korean patch; so i can go up to 5k easy per hit in a 3,6 hit/s with my ping, and if we add chaplain or pyro it goes even higher; i know that this is not META material,but is a little fun at least, and i have 0 trans on the corsair set right now, so the main downside is still the stamina…

Apparently pillage can get loot from enemies that normally don’t drop things.

Maybe he means gentleman hat, white decoration boater hat, or some other that drop from monster :slight_smile:.

Yeah I heard that rumor but there are conflicting sources on where it drops and I generally just assume anything anyone says about stuff like this is bullshit. I’m going with the theory that he got it from a GM summon.

Damm right… I got into a 5salad run today with no clerics and my build was sw3hop3goon2, people I partied with couldnt do damage too so… Holyhell the amount of HP AND SP pots i had to chug… This patch makes a cleric really valuable to any party dungeons. Can you imagine getting matched to a full dungeon run with no clerics as a swordie? Any archer and wizard player will expect YOU to tank damage for them… Good luck potting your 30k - 50k health pool.

Yesterday I gave a try to sw3 > barb1 > sair3 > shino full dex but it was kinda ■■■■.
I’m no sair expert, but it seems to me that the class is completely counter intuitive by itself :confused:
Tonight I’m gonna try the same build full str but I’m a little bit confused about the skills: if I go full route to c3 it seems dumb to take DWA, unless I want to switch pistol/dagger every time I want to use it. Hexen and Pistol were fine with dex and probably will be ok with str as well, but no other skills seem worth it…

Any ideas how to save things up?

Yea, I tested your same build and it was crap.Most damage came from clones+double slash. Sadly because I like corsair mechanics and concept. Seems like corsair isn’t fitting in any build, unless you are going for hook.
