[Review] Lv. 119 Wizard/Thaumaturge 80%SPR - The Alternative Control Mage

If you think about your only existance, maybe.

But … It’s a game with a party system. So … I’m pretty sure that, sometimes, 700 dmg x5 can be more worth it …

I’m a lv180 pyro2>thau3 here with Con:Int:Spr = 2:3:0
I honestly think pyro2 is best sync with thau3, because the hit counts scale perfectly with self buffed matk.
Swell Left Arm = 154 + 150 = +304mAtk
Swell Right Arm = 111 + 150 = +261mAtk
Swell Brain = (45int + 100int) = +145mAtk
Total = +710 mAtk
In other words, it +710 dmg to each of your skill hit. Which turn a low rank class skill into uber skill.
The downside is, you have to spend entire silver to enhance the skill and up your pyro skill attr %, (which also cheaper than you raise elementalist %), good thing is, you no need to look for high end equipment eagerly, just swap a shield for 200+ defense, and the equipment upgrade looks negligible to what you capable. I have enough Con to survive by the way.

Many peoples have underestimated Thaumaturge, it benefits greatly with high hit count skills.
Think about it, the pyro skill damage = (mAtk + skill base damage + fire property damage(arde) + thau max buff) * skillattribute% and it end up:
Fireball lv10 = (mAtk + 234 + 153 + 710) x 10 hits x 2 balls x 100% / 15s CD
Firewall lv10 = (mAtk + 153 + 710) x 12 hits x 100% / 45s CD
Flameground lv10 = (mAtk + 171 + 153 + 710) x 25 hits x 100% / 25s CD
Firepillar lv5 = (mAtk + 161 + 153 +710) x 12 hits x 100% / 120s CD

I’m using skill 1-3, which i can kill ~lv180 non-fire boss in 2-3 minutes if u cast firewall correctly with 6 tiles also hit the boss.
Downside of this build, you have no fancy skills and boring with those 3 skills, but practically you are stronger dps than elementalist c3.

false. Only some cleric/krivis skills scale with int, for everyone else 1 int = 1 matk.
so… Total = +710 mAtk

Firewall doesnt work that way. It is 12 hits divided between all tiles. So 2 hit/tile or 12 hit total.

Pyro2 > Linker > Thaum2 would have been even stronger imo.
or Pyro > Linker2 > Thaum2 for more of a support party play

You don’t really need a Linker in your build. You can always rely on another easy to find Linker compared to a rare thaum3 build.

Argh, my mistake, your are right.
1int = 1matk, just because when i add stat it show +2 ( it is actually +1 int and +1 matk = 2 matk)
Yup I verified, it is 12hits across all, but when 1 tile does > 2 hits, it looks like the other tile is missing and not the 1 is hitting somehow. It still good on boss anyway compare to firepillar.

Actually i see linker primary usage is dungeon, out of that doesn’t really practical

  1. Pyro2 > Linker > Thaum2
    I actually dislike linker1, it something stuck in the middle without significant impact, either pyro3>thau2 or pyro2>thau3 would be better, but consider pyro will be phase off eventually (it does actually, just the thau buff still make it useful), and thau3 could be better for R7 imo.

  2. Pyro > Linker2 > Thaum2
    This actually a good fun build with support based, it provide lot of things to the party, link-knot-swell body to have double experience. But sadly we doesn’t have other grind map like demon prison to maximize it.

During leveling you want to swell as many monsters as you can, and JP + hangman is perfect solution to gather all of them in one spot rooted especially mage and archer type monsters, plus double damage from all your AoEs and spread of your single target hits to 5 targets. All of that for… 145 + 43*2 = 231 Matk loss and you have one less buff to juggle.

I think it is better to go either C3 Linker or C3 Thaum, as both C3 are very strong.
I prefer Link C3 (as I am planning one), as I feel it can scale better.
