Returning player build Sw1->Pel1->Hop2->Cor2->Drg

Sw1->Pel1->Hop2->Cor2->Drg (R8 not advanced yet)

Returning player, quitted about a year ago. Just wondering if this build is relevant in the meta nowadays? Or is it probably better if I just start a new character?

Also side question, I don’t wanna make a new thread over at the Wizard section:
Wiz1->Cryo3->Kino3->No R8 yet - of any use as well?

Thanks for replies!

Should still work if you go Dragoon C2 for R8. It seems to be missing 1 rank though. Did you get Peltasta C1 at rank 2? Sword C2? Either is fine.

Decent DPS, but can’t top AgnyPyro builds right now. There’s an upcoming nerf to Agny though. Cryo in kTest lately is looking very strong in terms of DPS.

Whoops sorry missed out the Pel1 there. But would it still measure up to the meta nowadays? Or is the synergy just downright bad? Mostly this build (when I made it) was for single target burst for PvE bosses and also for PvP with Hook and Hoplite’s jump.

As for Wizard build it was actually a PvE and PvP CC build… Cryo3 nowadays do strong DPS?! Haha. Sorry I must have missed out on alot, haha.

Not as optimal as the Hop3 Dop1 Goon2, but it should still work. You’ll only be missing Spear Throw (Hop C3) which is a really good filler. You’ll have fun auto-attacking though inbetween bursts, and Corsair’s hook is really good in PVP.

With decent gear, it’s OK especially with IW+PP combo. Great CC arsenal nevertheless. I’d say it’s more of a PVP build than PVE right now.

Hop 2 is pure suffering. You miss out on spearchucking and the 1H spear damage boost attribute.

Ah thanks for reminding me about that C3 class attribute. Also, Spear Throw has a very nice bind attribute which makes the skill serve as an AOE CC as well, especially against melee mobs.

Hmm based on yours and Aqours response, I guess it’s safe to say my Swordie is a lost cause then T_T

Once you reach rank 8 dragoon2, you get Dethrone. It will be good to play.

Not really. Spear Throw is just really efficient especially when it comes to SP consumption.

As @greyhiem added, you’ll get Dethrone at Goon2 which will become one of your core burst skills coupled with Serpentine’s C2 attribute.

Optimal builds are recommended, but don’t let it get in the way of fun as long as your build can still decently perform.

Your build is a fair trade favoring PVP.

You miss out on Spear Throw and the attribute, but you have Hexen and a slightly better pillage. I’d say to keep it and go for Drag2. Different doesn’t always equal worse.

After the formula change, they seem to be intending to give out rank resets so even if you wind up not liking it you could wait for that.

Just wondering, the rank resets, it resets you all the way back to Sw1?
Does it reset your attributes that has been invested in as well?

This has information regarding your attribute question.

I’ve never used one to know, but I believe how it works is:
You use it, it auto-logs you out. When you relog, you’ll be Sw1 with cards that give all the exp for r2, r3, etc…
You have to do the class change quests over (but not during the event they’re going to have during the reset period, as seen on Vivie’s link) and it resets your attributes to Lv0, but you can buy the ones you had back for 0 silver, up to whatever level you had them at before (not sure about after the attribute point system).
If anyone could chime in to confirm, that would be nice.

Okay… thanks for the info guys
