Returner player.... classes questions (PVE - HIGH END)

Hello guys

I really want to return to this game but I am a bit confused…

To start, I am 99% PVE player, in this kind of game (MMORPG) I’m always the healer/support or tank in my group, because I really enjoy playing with these roles. However, I am bit confused about what should I be.

The only thing I don’t like in this game is the healer way (with the cleric boxes) so then maybe I should forget to play as haler, so then which class/build do you recommend to me? what are the meta classes and build in the PVE H.end?

I am not sure if I should play with a warrior tank, wizard support or a cleric support. Any recommendation?

Also, are the tanks and support/healers in demand?

BONUS QUESTION: Does the priest healer skill useful? or the only way to play as healer in this game is with the cleric boxes?

Wizard support CC & buff
Cryo3 Chrono3 sage/enchanter
Cryo1 linker2 Chrono3 sage/enchanter

Cleric buffer
Priest3 (+chaplain)

Heal & dps
Cleric2 + damage ranks

No tank in ToS, only mob CC and mob grouper/lurer

oh, no tanks? Is the paladin useful?

Not really, no. It’s also not a real tank as it has no skills to provoke/hold aggro, you can only keep aggro as a Paladin if you deal enough DPS.
Paladin is more the kind of class you mix with other class to compliment each other imo, so usually you better know what you’re doing with it.

Honestly for Cleric’s heal, you get used to it. It also allows you to put them in a good spot and for your party to go on them when they need to.
Priest’s heal isn’t really good as it’s difficult to aim correctly when your party is constantly running/moving around. It’s good if you want to heal yourself and a more static character though (like the tank of your party).

You do have tanky classes, but they just provoke and hold aggro.

Wizards can be buffers, control crowds, and also make things faster (reduce skills’ cd, make characters move faster).

Maybe you’d like classes that allow to mitigate damages ? Like Dievdirbys who can silence mobs and have a statue that make your team invincible for some time (but the party has to run around the statue in order to get the buff).

You can check classes and skills here if you want: https://tos.neet.tv/skill-planner
Knowing usually classes with blue icons are defensive/CC classes, green icons are support/buffing classes. But you also have yellow classes who don’t specialize in buffs or protection but can still offer this kind of skills.

Thank you for your post… so then I will delete the idea to be a tank in this game… Now I need to make a decision to be a wizard support or a paladin support (it is the only class that which get my attention in the cleric side)

On Tanks, I wouldn’t say there is no tank. A swordman with peltasta can tank pretty well, takes significantly less damage than anyone else, and can keep a boss in position so certain attacks from their party hit the boss properly.

Simply adding Peltasta 1 to your build lets your swordy tank well. You will mainly gather enemies on you using your taunt (so people can AOE them, MUCH more practical than without a taunt), and position bosses.

Yes, if you already have perfect gear, this isn’t necessary in current content, but the combat changes might change that up.

In the game’s current format, anyone can tank as long as they have the highest dps or they’re a swordsman. This being due to everyone being able to reduce damage taken by enemies to 1 (with good gear). But in the case where everyone in the party takes no damage (or 1 damage per hit), there’s no need for a tank.

In terms of grouping mobs, peltesta is the best swordsman to do it but cyro and linker have ice pillar and hangman’s knot, respectively, to group mobs.

I guess paladins could be considered tanks since they can protect all members of the party from the melee attacks of mobs with barrier but because of another cleric class… any class can use barrier by spending a bit of silver…

Ausrine and melstis and suddenly everyone’s a tank.

Things might take a turn with the barrier change in ktos,

They reduced the range of barrier to that of the inner circle and added a new attribute to double its range. Simony can’t replicate attributes so the inner circle is the range of a barrier scroll. Also restoration might be useful with the change in how regen works.

I see it looks amazing

So then what is the best paladin (PVE) build/s ATM? Does anyone have experience playing with the paladin in the high end content?

I have in mind the following idea, but maybe it is so AFK auto attack = boring like the hell. I would like to find something to pay attention

Full SPR

Thanks
