Hi, This thread is only a question nothing else. (I used search but couldn’t find anything that is recent)
So, the monsters respawn, is it supposed to be like that? all monsters respawn after some minutes?
I played the last closed beta and I remember mob respawned quicker…
(Hope this wasn’t already an issue that will be resolved and sorry for bad english)
Yes. It was to lessen some burden of the server since timing a respawn per individual mob means more process. Sadly, this might be permanent unless they find a more optimized method on handling the spawn system.
I don’t remember this being disclosed anywhere, that it was intentional. Where did you see that?
Hopefully the respawn rate will be higher when the “mad rush” of players subsides… As it is right now, there are too many players and not enough mobs, over 50% of the time you just sit there and wait for mobs to respawn…
Thanks for the answers! Hope they will do something.
Because it wasn’t. It’s an obvious thing if you have abit of programming experience. I tried making warcraft3maps before and creating individual spawn timers for tons of units creates a huge burden on the host since all processing happens there.
So you don’t know for sure if it’s like that because it’s intended to be release like that, or is just a measure to handle the server for now because of the number of player is greater than they expected + they had to rush things due the backlash of the community.
based on what i’ve seen on reddit
previous spawn mechanics:
count starts after they die
current spawn mechanics:
every x minutes, server checks if that type of monster died and all will start counting at the same time. if you kill a monster 30 sec earlier and just killed one 10 sec later, they spawn at the same time once the server acknowledge their deaths. elite monster takes more time before getting checked.
so yeah spawn rates are 2-3x more slower mostly if a quest is to kill elite monster or get an item from an elite monster
