Resparking AFK Farming Debate

Let’s look at Dina Bee Farm under a critical lens; though this can apply to any place where AFK players hold a monopoly on mob spawn location. Players coming through Dina Bee Farm to complete the quests are hindered/slowed because of AFK players.

AFK players have positioned themselves in such a way as to maximize mob killing potential. Players coming through here looking to complete their quests and be on their way are having to wait around and pick off mobs before the AFK players get to them.

God forbid a player is a support build and struggles to pull mobs away from the AFK players to kill them.

(Reference: image of optimized AFK players. Also, me, in the middle, acting devastated for dramatic effect. See above.)

Now I would like to turn the audiences attention to a scrap from ToS’s ToS (Tree of Savior’s Terms of Service):

Clearly, AFK players are breaking the Terms of Service.

AFK farming should be a ban-able offense. Fight me.

Can I report the players with afk store in fedimian, polluting the look of it?

Does that violate the Terms of Service?

"You shall not continuously act in a way to disrupt other players’ gameplay. "

Especially when I need to talk to some npc

I’ll agree to that.

I really find annoying players that set their shop near of the NPC i dont know why they do that, if im not interested in such service they shouldnt make me “open their shop” by setting their shop there, but that can be fixed with just making NPC have some sort of small area where player cant set up a shop.

back on topic yersterday took me around 1 hour doing dina bee farm quest (mostly bee related) because every freaking channel have necros/sorc afk despite i have my sign of “just questing and monster count” some of the necro/sorc afk party members were kill stealing the mobs i needed for quest like if i just were trying to farm for myself, good thing spear throw + geras spear is strong enough to kill bees in one hit so i can steal kill to them. at least thanks to the afkers got 3 clear vouchers since those were in the floor and discerning gem.

same with crystal mines and tenet church F1 quests, but this time AFK Companion were the problem, in crystal mines they set their companions in the place where the vubber miner with the ? sign spawn took me like 15 mins trying to kill one for myself. tenet church? like if i dont have enough trouble dealing with the bots that steal my mobs i have to deal also with afk companion in the altar where you have to activated it then kill the pawndels.

these things are an issue and certainly should be banneable since they are messing with the gameplay of others. God wish my cleric were oracle already so i can deal with those fkers messing with the others gameplay

I will report everyone I can catch who kills wordlbosses then. I want dropps too, but the worldboss mafia denies the bosses to me. That disrupts my gameplay cause it includes worldbossing.
Could go on with stupid examples regarding this “rule”.
So better forget about it.

It is incredible, can be used for everything

There’s a minimum distance away from NPCs required to open a store. Other than that buggy statue in Orsha that AFAIK is STILL blockable, because IMC is IMC, there shouldn’t be any way to keep you from talking to an NPC. Maybe it’s harder to click them if you’re in mouse mode, I wouldn’t know; you can just stand on top of them and hit the interact button in keyboard or controller mode.

Anyway as for the original topic, I agree. It’s garbage design moreso than anything. IMC should just fix the core class problems that allow Necros to do this. Just like they made Sorcerer summons become passive if you don’t attack something yourself for a while, do the same thing with skeletons. Then the AFKers will have to actually macro to farm and we can report them as bots.

Havent people been banned for holding the attack button though?

Does this count as disrupting other players gameplay?

yes

Well, if they are not playing then no. It does not count as disrupting their gameplay.

That’s still considered a macro.

With weight on the Z key

Are you going to set up a stream with your webcam showing you’re weighting down your Z key the whole time? It’s still considered a macro.

Agreed. It’s disruptive, reports from others have shown AFKer’s in that area to be hostile and aggressive when others are just trying finish quests, and it’s insanely lazy on top of breaking terms of service. If you aren’t giving your game your full attention [with the exception of merchant classes which were made to be able to AFK and not disrupt],then why are you even playing it?
