Reset class its impossible?

they will definitely. It’s one of the kind of thing that sells.

Still, it’s a currently 280lvl game…
If you wait lvl280 to realize that your build is sh*t… Then I’d say it’s well deserved…
At lower lvl (like ~130), you can still reroll or make adjustments.

@roflmaopapa
I’d rather say the beauty of the game is to discover classpath/builds while playing with other players

TBH I don’t know how I’d feel about class resets.

On the one hand it’d be nice to experiment without starting again from scratch, but on the other hand it trivialises all this planning of builds…

I like the idea that you build a character to have a certain role, which creates a dynamic where no one can do everything and everyone in the community needs to rely on everyone else. It’s lame if you can just throw some money at the game and reset your class/skills to fit whatever role you want.

For example, certain Cleric classes are hard to grind to, and so they’re a big deal and in high demand. It’d kind of cheapen the whole thing if you could just level as whatever Cleric class you want and then switch to the very best Cleric support combination possible. Or maybe I’m just feeling nostalgic because of Ragnarok, where priests were loved and making one was this trial with success being your godly role at the end.

I don’t think this will happen, but IMHO I think they should keep the class system the way it is and massively boost job exp progression, so that there’s less fear/nail-biting involved in picking a job advance, and screwing up your class is less likely to make people ragequit from not wanting to grind another character up to X level.

What is stopping someone from picking the maximum DPS possible and then switching to a support class via cash shop later?

I think the system should remain and people need to be punished for their mistakes and lack of research into their character.

Well, maybe you can reset your class but make it so that you start at rank 1. That way, you can reset if you choose to, but you still need to level it up all over again.

The way I see it right now, any players’ build can get fcked over by nerfs or rank 7+ updates. And getting fcked over something that you have no control of, isn’t very fun.

That would actually be okay… I think…

but we already have that.
it’s called the Delete button.

the whole point everyone is trying to make is whether players should be allowed to reset without having to go through all that work again.

personally, i like not having the reset.

1st; it’s a PvE system.
…in a PvP system, everyone strictly analyzes for the “best performing builds”, and reproduces them cookie-cutter style. “messing up” with even a single stat/skill point can provide a noticeable drop in overall power, making the build that same amount less effective at what it does.
…however in PvE, the necessity of having a perfect build is removed. you will often be working with other players (instead of against), who can complement your strengths and/or cover your weaknesses. overall, with everyone covering each other, minor variations in exact power level will make little impact, if they’re even noticed.

the emphasis here is in covering critical points of your roles, whether it be tank, dps, or support. vast amounts of HP and aggro-holding abilities; dealing piles of damage, but knowing how to avoid pulling aggro off the tanks; heals and [de]buffs. each class and build has their own ways of contributing to these roles. admittedly they aren’t all evenly distributed; eg, any class can be built for DPS, with mostly good results… but only cleric (and their advanced classes) can seriously take on a healing role.

i’ve played in plenty of “oddball” parties over my many years of MMO’s, and sure it doesn’t always go as fast as an optimal party. but then again going just a bit slower than optimal is still a lot faster than going nowhere at all. would you rather make -some- progress, or sit around waiting for a perfect party for so long that by the time you find the last few members, the first few are breaking off to go to bed and such?

you will just have to…

No, it’s different. Deleting is… deleting. Everything in that character is gone. Inventory, Quest Progress, even the bonus weight, stats, stamina, etc that you get from quest is gone. Hell, even token is character bound and can’t be transferred to other character.

Also, I don’t get how you think it’s a PvE game. It’s both. Sure, the PvP part is bad and undeveloped right now, but there are still people who played and build for PvP.

At the end of the day, it’s only a suggestion. IMO, having a class reset in the game would only benefits players. Although there might be some compromise to it, so that players can’t just reset whenever they want and without effort.

active token is account bound, for that server, unless the token itself, as well as any information about it is lying.

the PvP exists just to get PvPers to shut up about it. i’ve seen a few games without PvP, and half the forum is players crying because they can’t fight other players. just because it exists doesn’t mean it’s what the game is mainly about.

anyway, i didn’t say it wouldn’t benefit players.
i understand the difference between a reset and a delete (as a thought: if they chose a reset style that forced you to re-level, i’d say a delete would be better, since you’d have to grind all of it. you’ve already used up the quests; what are you going to level on now?) i understand that there are different ways to do a reset too. (reset a specific rank to be chosen immediately. reset all ranks to be chosen immediately. reset all ranks, and force them to level up naturally again. etc.)

regardless, i think it would be bad for the GAME.
everyone used to NA-style would just use the cookie-cutter leveling build for their base class (or even a specific class, if you allow a base-class reset) and race to the top level, then reset to “what they really want to be”, and then have no idea how to play it. then they’d get frustrated, and disappear.

It has never been possible to reset class in this game and presumably it never will be. So no.

It will come eventually. Although there are no indication of how or when it will be implemented, still there are already too much attention and this is hardly to be ignored.

People already quit because the lack of this feature and surely common sense should justify that IMC is already working on it.

In the meantime, if you’re still early in the game, I would suggest to reroll a new character and try to do it correctly this time. Or you can try build another class and comeback to your old character once the class reset is implemented.

Another tip would be to not pour any silver into attributes until you’re comfortable with the build. Rerolling will be less of a pain without ditching all those attribute silvers.

Also both IMC and the playerbase would benefit lots from a circle reset. Might even jumpstart the population numbers again.

Edit: just noticed the bad necro after 6 months
