[Requesting] Blank Class icons

I was originally thinking of posting this down at the fan arts area but with the recent fan art announcement I thought that place might be flooded up and since this is also related to ToS I might as well post it here.

Is anyone able to photoshop or edit out the class icons so that it will be blank ? I tried to do something like that once but I did it on MS Paint so as you can tell the blank icon didn’t have the shade of colours it has on the background and it looked pretty terrible.

It’ll be nice if someone could do it but I’m open to any kind of tutorial links as well since I have no idea what search terms to type in to find tutorials on this.

This is kind of what I did before but as you can see it looks kind of terrible.

EDIT: I found a way to do my thing without needing what I originally asked for but if anyone wants to contribute to the original idea you’re welcomed to just in case anyone else needs it.

You want that red part to be transparent?

Yeah, this is as good I could get with paint.net

I also need one for the blue and green icons as well.

Forgot to mention I need them to be the standard non-hidden class ones.

Uh, my bad. When I said transparent I actually meant for it to keep the shading behind like on the second image I posted. You can see there’s still a few shades of the red as the background.

I see. Hmm… i thought you wanted the clean frame.

Yeah this is actually pretty hard for me but then again I literally just started learning paint.net like 40 mins ago lol. Some experts could probably do that.

And my guildies are half treating me as transparent :"") I guess it’s that way since I didn’t even log in for almost 2 months.

What you want is kinda hard tho.

I’m considering just getting the empty frame and just making my own background to be honest but I’m not too sure how to make it.

EDIT: Oh God why didn’t I think of that earlier. It’s much less of a headache and quite simple to do.

It seems the original template for those icons can be simplified into 3 layers as follows in exact order:

  1. Semi-transparent foreground: The glow/flare effect on the top portion along with the shadow or overlay that gets darker from top to bottom.

  2. The class icon/logo: Seems like it’s some shade of white, semi-transparent.

  3. The frame and solid-colored background

If you have $$$ to spare, you can outsource this to someone who’s pro at Photoshop and any other similar image editing tool. Perhaps at Upwork, Freelancer, maybe even Fiverr.

This definitely would not take long to do at all in Photoshop, you could probably redo it yourself but if you want it exactly it’s just a matter of finding the few classes that have very little on their class icon layer.

Red - Archer, Swordsman, and maybe a few others like Fencer or Cataphract can get you the rest of the background you need
Green - Linker, Corsair, Priest, Wugu should get you most of it
Yellow - Squire, Diev, Necro (Probably oen of the harder ones to get)
Blue - I don’t even know where to start there, would probably have to redo it or take a bit of work.

Here is how they look in the IPF(I screenshotted the IPF browser because it’s a .tga and I can’t be arsed to do that)
Swordsman

Archer

Cleric

Wizard

This is what I got doing red. Exactly 7 pixels I couldn’t find uncovered between them in the topish left and the middle right, so I just used brush. Someone skilled will obviously do much better and can probably do it in 2 seconds with brush or diffing the color of the icon or something though ¯_(ツ)_/¯

If that quality is enough for you, I can do the rest tomorrow probably

If you look closely they all have that weird gem cluster that’s offcenter on them I’m not sure why, but you’ll see it more on the topleftside for most of them.

Oh wow that was what I was trying to do but mine is pretty messed up. It’ll be nice if you could do for the Blue and Green icons :3

Okay I tried the blue one with that method and sadly there honestly just isn’t enough to be able to get it, almost all of the gem background is covered by all of them and there are very few blue classes. Unfortunately these had a lot more AA than I thought
Seems the red one and possibly yellow are the only ones that look even remotely okay with this method.

The green one would need someone with a little more skill to get the look out of the hunter, but unfortunately much of the middle was left looking very, very badly

Gonna need someone with more skill, sorry to get your hopes up on those other colors!
