Seeing how gems play a major role in building a character and increasing skill levels it seems really weird how restrictive the gem trading is.
I think a feature where you can right click someone and request gem socketing would help this aspect, afterall monster gems are literally untradable right now so if you find one thats not suitable for your class it’s essentially useless.
It could go something like this:
Player A requests gem socketing from Player B
Player B accepts the request
Player A puts the item in the gem socketing interface
Player A enters the desired amount of silver that Player B demands
Player B applies the gem on the item
Done
I don’t believe this could get abused, since the monster gem gets applied to the equipment instantly and gets destroyed when unsocketing.
This prevents reselling the same gem over and over and makes it impossible for RMT / Gold Sellers to abuse this feature.
Monster Gems are really rare and should be more than just decoration in your storage.
I am not sure if this could work for regular gems, as RMT / Gold Sellers could try and request gem socketing from buyers and the gold sellers puts in 10.000.000 silver for a lvl1 gem.
Maybe only allow regular gems to be socket requested if the gems are at least lvl 5.
