Request advice about class/build

Hello.

I am looking for your opinion regarding the different classes in this game since I don’t have much time to try them myself as much as I would like due to work/school. I am hoping that this will help me find the class that will fit best my criteria.

Basically I am looking for a cheap class/build that will allow me solo even harder content if needed. I like partying but I don’t think I will be able to wait to search for one all the time so I thought I should play something that is not hindered too much when soloing. It doesn’t have to be the fastest class since I also enjoy to take my time with games to explore them. I know that it’s still beta and thing will prob change but right now I need a starting point. For a few days I’m just following forum posted trying to figure things on my own but I can’t figure things out :frowning:

So far I have tried all base classes. These are my experiences:

  1. I got an archer to ranger lvl 33 going full SPR (i think also a bit of con for extra hp) and it’s fun but it’s still quite squishy. I don’t have money to buy many hp pots so when grinding the downtime is a bit annoying. Plus I’m not very familiar with attributes so I think that’s why my dmg is not as high as could be (too broke for those too). I was thinking to aim for hunter to get a pet to tank for me. Plus I read I can use the pet on all chars so I can save some money like that.
All in all I have 2 main problems with archer so far: first, my hp drops too fast while grinding; second, in one moment I do run out of sp too and normal attack is very bad with this build both for grinding and fighting bosses. Perhaps at later lvls it’s better so please let me know.

  2. The swordsman i turned into a petalsta with the thought to go for barb c3 and doppel. I figured I can use shield and sword and that will let me stay alive more without having to use pots than pure dps. Plus i’m not a fan of going the popular builds. I like the taunt and aoe on normal atk is very useful so those are pluses.
Problems with this path: I’m not sure where to place my stats and my sp pool is very little making boss fights extremely boring. Sometimes i don’t even bother dodging their skills just press z and sleep
Is this build good for my needs and does it get better al high lvls?

  3. Wizard.
Didn’t play for long just tried the basic skills to see if I like how they feel. With this I was thinking of some aoe build with alch at the end to make money and pots for my own use. I don’t know much about the wiz classes, not even how alch skills work other than watching the vids of how they look.
I am willing to try it and main it if it’s the best option regardless of build. I like magic just as much as archer’s pew pew (too bad they can’t use normal attack while walking).

  4. Cleric.
Only tried it to see how the tile system works. I can see it work as it can heal itself but I’m very unsure about bosses.
I mean clerics are party classes, it wouldn’t make sense to take one for solo. But maybe if I play it I ca find parties easier? Although I’ve been reading around that healers are not a necessity:frowning:
Anyway, for this class I was thinking cleric c1 krivis c3 and then no idea, druid or paladin maybe? or pardoner for money?

Thank you very much for reading and replying. Looking forward to hear your opinions. Happy gaming!

TL;DR:
Not much time to play but really like the game. Need a cheap class that can solo if needed even high content (doesn’t need to be the fastest but not 15 min of pressing z pls). Tried all base classes and some c2 ones and read forums>>>still confused and need you wisdom. TYVM

thought to go for barb c3
wut?!?!

Clerics are strong for soloing just like they are for groups, it just depends on how you build them. Krivis is probably the go-to option if you want to solo, Zaibas at circle 2 becomes amazing at dealing with mobs due to the Splash attribute. Just treat him as you’d a caster and you’ll be set.

Also if the max you got is ~lvl33 I suggest putting a little more time in a single character. It is not hard at all to get to 70s, and you will get a lot more resources to spend on new characters later. If you manage to get a pet leveled up you literally will not have to do anything at the start of the game.

Ps: I’m biased towards Cleric. Swordsman is probably the next best option, but as you said, it is the bee’s knees atm.

I may not be the best one to say that (Since i don’t play much this class) but I heard Barb is really ideal for soloing and things like that, a well played barb c3 is supposed to be able to easly face anything 10+ levels (This respecting the law to not overload and lose time/exp on it)… So if you can find a good barb build, it may not be a bad idea for soloing =)

In my case I’m trying a all rounder Archer/QS/Sapper/Schwarzer Reiter… If i find out its a good solo build I’ll make sure to tell you about it XD

Masochist confirmed.

Yup x_x
But at least its fun XD

I had decided on this before knowing how popular it actually is. But popularity aside I just aimed for a dps branch after the peltasta. Since I don’t like the hoplite skills I thought barb would work because the skills are also without weapon restrictions.

As far as I noticed the popular barb build is with highlander and 2h sword. I prefer sword and shield but I’m not sure if it isn’t a waste to use barb with those and without highlander. Will it be enough dps or is this build just a bad mash?

Thank you all for your answers.

I guess I will start lvling the cleric and see how krivis works out. Maybe try the bokor without zombies, just stabbing the voodoo doll for killing bosses.

I’m very curious to see what changes will the developers make to classes after this beta. I’m hoping some will even happen during it.

If anyone has any other input on classes, please let me know
