REMOVE attack patterns and HP indicator

Monsters and Bosses are so easy to defeat. There’s not much excitement in KNOWING the attack patterns and HP indicator of the monsters.

Why remove the attack patterns?

As it is, monster attack patterns are highlighted by red circles, columns, etc., before they attack. Having this, I feel that it’s being SPOONFED to us. It’s like the EASY option you choose when choosing the difficulty of a particular game.

Not having the attack patterns allow the player to carefully observe and analyze what attack patterns the boss monster will use in that moment. This will make the game harder but much more satisyfing in that you feel you used your intellect to analyze and try to defeat the monster.

Why remove the HP Indicator?

Back when I was still playing Final Fantasy VIII, there is much excitement in defeating a BOSS that you have no idea how much HP it has (unless you use an optional skill to do this). It gets you hyped up because you don’t know how much attacks you need to defeat the boss. It makes you think if you should go for it or not. If you’ve prepared enough potions for the battle.

So far, I don’t feel any sense of ADVENTURE in this game yet. I feel I am just USHERED to do this and that, kill this monster, go to this area, etc.,

There is excitement and great satisfaction in NOT KNOWING particular things about the monsters.

I hope this suggestions gets supported by like-minded saviors as well.

Let me now what you think.

I’ll agree to this once transfers are done, but now it’s a big no. I’m playing with high ping and I’m still receiving damage half screen away from the indicator.

Agree. Once the transfers are done, they maybe they can roll out changes that they have agreed.

Nice suggestion, totally agree. Also make them attack and walk faster.

Agree.
For now I’m feeling more like a tourist rather than adventurer.

It’s like:

  • And if you look to the left you’ll see that fancy monster.
  • Wooow!!
  • You even can try to kill it. Would you like?
  • Yeah! What should I do?
  • Well, step right, than do the barrel roll, than hit, then left…
  • Cool, may I take a photo?
  • Sure. And now go back to the bus, we are going to the next attraction.

Back then in Ragnarok times I was actually exploring the world. Wen I just started playing I had no idea what to do and where should I go. I was chatting with strangers, asking stupid questions. Wandering around, trying to find something to kill. Talking with random NPCs (because there were no quest markers). And if I ran into a boss… Well, then I was dead in a second. And that was a greatest experience one can have in a game at his first time. All those quests, leading you through locations like on the rails… All those WoW legacy, like “go and kill 15 of those dudes”… All those Boss fights, where friendly UI telling you “Please, sir, would you mind moving a little bit back, because this monster is going to hit this area, please, thanks”… There is like no adventure spirit at all. It’s all about tourism. Still beutiful. Kinda interesting. But not exciting.

Well, maybe It’s just because I’m in a lower levels, and high end gameplay will offer me something more.

Attack patterns are not present once you get past the initial stages of the game and require an Oracle to be seen.
