Relevant autoattack question

ok so defense takes off a flat number vs physical attack and mdefense takes off flat value of magic attacks

-so what about elemental property physical attacks?

example if my middle headgear has 34 fire property attack, does it count towards my physical attack on the enemy?

u can see the problem being if its like 34 fire attack vs 34 mdefense im basically doing 0 extra damage from my middle headgear

plz help

Elemental property attacks are added into the damage calculations AFTER defense.

DMG formula ((((Skill Attack + Attack) + (random(0% … 100%) * Magic Amplification) * (100% + T0)) - (((Defense - Defense Debuff) * (100% + Level Penalty)) + Elemental Resistance)) * (100% + (0 or 50% if crit)) + (0 or Critical Attack) + (Extra Elemental Attack) + (Enemy Specific Damage)) * (100% + T1) * (100% + T2) * (100% + T3) * (100% + Enhance) + Bonus Damage

They also have their own way of being reduced

((Elemental Attack - (Elemental Resistance + Debuff/Buff)) * Elemental Modifier) (+ …)

Where (+ …) is a repeat of the first part for each element.

So to answer your question, it counts as bonus damage on top of your normal damage. AKA. free damage

Most monsters do not have elemental resistance so you won’t be seeing monsters reducing elemental property attack too often.

ok so lets say I have fire resist, it will reduce damage from “fire” property spells, and from “fire” property physical attacks?

Lets say the following

-you do 100 damage
-you have 50 fire property attack

-the monster has 10 defense
-the monster has no fire resistance

-You will hit the monster for 90 + (50 fire property attack).
It will be shown as 140 damage.

Another example but with fire resistance

-You do 100 damage
-You have 50 fire property attack

-the monster has 10 defense
-the monster has 25 fire resistance

-You will hit the monster for 90 + (25 fire property attack)
It will show up as 115 damage.

Now for magic damage, it gets a bit trickier. Lets say.

-You do 100 fire mage damage
-You have 50 fire property attack

-the monster has 25 magic defense
-the monster has 25 fire resistance

-You will hit the monster for 50 + (25 fire property attack)
It will show as 75 damage

ya I understand that, im just asking is fire resist will also work vs fire spells?

Read the last example. Let me break it down more.

Now for magic damage, it gets a bit trickier. Lets say.

-You do 100 fire magic damage
-You have 50 fire property attack

-the monster has 25 magic defense
-the monster has 25 fire resistance

-Since the monster has 25 magic defense, your magic attack (100 damage) will be reduced by 25 therefore becoming 75.
-Since the monster also has 25 fire resistance, your fire magic attack will also be reduced by an additional 25. It becomes 50 damage.

-Magic defense does not affect elemental property attack, so your 50 fire property attack will stay the same
-However, the fire resistance will reduce the fire property attack by 25 which makes your fire property attack 25

-The end result is 50 fire magic daamge + 25 fire property attack.
It will show up as 75 damage.

ok duh, i see it now, thanks

Your welcome.

There is also another thing about elemental weakness.

Using the same example,

-You do 100 fire magic damage
-You have 50 fire property attack

-the monster has 0 magic defense
-the monster is weak to fire

This time I am going to talk about fire property attack first.

-The monster is weak to fire, therefore you do 50% more damage to it

-Since the monster is weak to fire, your fire property attack will increase by 50%
-it will go from 50 -> 75

-Since your magic attack is fire, your magic damage will be increased by 50% as well.
-This 50% increase comes AFTER elemental property attack is applied

-So your magic damage will be 100 + (75 fire property attack)
-Which will then be multiplied by 150%

-It becomes 150 + (112 fire property attack) damage

Essentially, elemental property attack double dips on monsters weak to that element if you are using the same elemental magic attack.
