Regarding 5 Hammer Memes

I’ve been leveling 13 alts lately, 9 of which are from 50-80 that I just touch to do 3 dungeon runs of (for whatever dungeon they’re on) to farm with and play different classes with, and today I got a Five Hammer.

I remember when I played last (beta), it was the hype but I could never get into it. One thing I noticed though was the 5 gem slots, did some research, and learned that these can make weapons op for alts.

So, I decided to buy into the meme and buy 5 level 6 red gems and attach them to it with the caf level 15 set (that I farmed a long time ago) and raised it to +5 (no durability, not wasting a golden anvil on this).

What I learned was as a level 50 going into a level 50 dungeon solo I do… The exact same damage as all my other level 50 alts. No STR on any of my alts since you twoshot everything (yes, twoshot since I only buy the red blessing, running back from karp between 3 runs really is a pain).

What am I doing wrong? 5 level 6 gems and 5 hammer and I still don’t even oneshot mobs, I do the exact same damage as a normal weapon. This is the exact same issue I had in beta, where meme weapons like this just proved… useless

Am I missing something here? Was Red Gems nerfed to crap? I just wanted gear for my alts

You don’t need that weapon, just get pardoner buffs. Also that would be better used with a skill than normal attacks.

Only one of the pardoner buffs lasts more then a single dungeon run, and almost none of the dungeons until 140 are right next to teleport statues.

I saw that due to the gems, this weapon becomes as good as one level 220 or something, which is why it was a meme, but it seems like garbage to me and I can’t figure out why it doesn’t work.

I do use pardoner buffs, but with level 1 gear you don’t actually do much soloing the 110 dungeon with just sacrament

Oh well, guess I just wasted a million on those gems, guess I’ll start leveling a pardoner

Is it possible to just get a straight answer instead?

Jesus, it’s not effecting my gameplay in any way, I simply wanted to explore my options of how I can improve things and stumbled upon a lot of statistics of this particular set and wanted to know why it’s not seeming to do anything for me.

I’m not here to ask if the game is possible without this junk, that’s clearly obvious and what I’ve been doing, I simply wanted to inquire other options

Instead of a +/- damage system , the combat system got changed to a log10 system.

I do believe now a corona rod provides equal or more magic damage over a fiver hammer with 5 6* Gems. The base damage of most equipment have been tweaked to fit into this current damage system, meaning a weapon will provide a certain amount of damage for it’s base level. On the other hand , Five Hammer being a weapon of low base level did not benefit from these adjustments and the gems that come with it is merely compensated by raw damage of the weapon ( Say, corona rod )

5 hammer is a relic now.

it was a meme before the combat rebalance, but they improved scaling of weapons since then so it’s no longer a meme

The real hay-day of the Five Hammer was before the first whole game system overhaul. At that point, Sacrament gave something like 80 damage, and Blessing gave a couple hundred. All weapon attack values were also around half of what they are now.

At that point, the bonus 420 attack from Red Gems (assuming level 5 gems) was enormous compared to other bonuses you could get. Keeping in mind HP values of mobs were also different, you can kind of see that the situation that gave birth to the Five Hammer cheese is basically gone.

Now, with Sacrament giving almost 1k damage, Blessing giving 2~3k, and all weapon attack values being doubled from what they were previously, the unchanged value of Red Gems means they just can’t keep up with the damage curve nearly as well anymore.

Thanks a lot, that all is exactly what I was looking for. Shame, it’s honestly really hard to find a lot of information in the game without severely outdated information popping up… literally everywhere.

I’ll just get a 75/120/170/220 HG wep from each class and reduce the current stones back to level 4, thanks a lot for serious responces

I asked about gear in one of my threads about a week ago that mentioned that I should get five hammer, which is what led me to following the relic meme

You don’t need to buy weapons till, maybe, 220.
If you want to spend silver buy a Cafrisun Set and an Arde Dagger. Additionally, but not mandatory, an Agny Necklace and 3 hair accessory with elemental damage property.

With these things and pardoners’ buffs you’ll easily 1-2 shot everything up to level 230.

If you check Market, Five Hammers are sold for something like 30k silvers. Yeh, it’s no longer a thing. But it’s still a really good weapon if you wanna solo farm in Demon District. For lvl 50 dungeon you have a TP at Tenet Farm, for lvl 80 dungeon a TP at Mausoleum 1F. For dungeon lvl 110/200 just do the yellow quest, you will end up with a NPC near the two dungeon entrances and a free tp (get sure to take your daily TP scrolls, or buy Klai/Orsha/Fedi scrolls). The only things you need to solo lvl 50 dungeon are the best buffs from Pardoner shop, you should be able to OS everything even without weapon. Cafrisun set is a good option if enemies are not dealing too much damages.

Want an answer? You are playing a bazillion alts and struggling for level 50 dungeon. And every post i’ve seen by you had some incredibly bad rushed idea.

That’s very, very wrong. I’m not struggling one bit… I’ve easily made 2 chars to 250 and have about 8 100-120? It’s more I wanted a more universal thing to spread across the alts to maybe speed it up a tiny bit, but the speed it’s going is not a problem.

I don’t get what the issue is for wanting to see options for things to go a tiny bit faster, that doesn’t mean I’m “struggling”, I even specified that I’m 2 shotting mobs but It’s quite clear you don’t even know how to read a post

I wanted something to last a bit longer up past 100-200, for when there’s nobody in queue for 140/170 dungeon for example to speed things up a minimal amount, while fine if that option isn’t available.

I’m sorry if it offends you that I wanted to optimize my alt playtime with cost effectiveness, I forgot that all we’re supposed to do is bitch at IMC and whine while not exploring solutions

You’d be surprised how much outdated info you find when trying to do research… It’s research that keeps giving me these outdated ideas/solutions, it’s rather painful. It seems recent information in this game is pretty deep to dig out, and I didn’t exactly want to keep asking every question I wanted since last time I asked about optional gear, I was told “don’t do it” and absolutely no real solutions (don’t bother with gear at all until 220), one person even mentioned that 5hammer was all you needed.

I don’t know what part of it being a bit difficult to research these things with how outdated most data is is so hard to understand, because clearly even half of the posters around don’t even know up to date information (Such as the several people who keep telling me how OP returning player event is when that was months ago)

Honestly, this is what’s REALLY annoying me.

what part of I’VE BEEN DOING ALL THAT AND IT’S FINE don’t anyone understand.
The thing is that it does take a few mins to walk to said teleport areas back and forth (or warp) after each and every dungeon, what part of that is so hard to understand? Chars actually run rather slow in this game, I simply wanted to better explore options.

I asked about the 5 hammer, NOT HOW TO PLAY THE GAME WITHOUT 5 HAMMER, I ALREADY KNOW HOW TO DO THAT

I’m pretty sure I’ve never met a community that has lacked this much chromosomes, it’s degrading to know I enjoy this game when this is the kind of people who do

Heya, hope you can calm down a little. People sometimes forget that there have been a lot of changes despite the game staying hopeless and redundant for awhile now and they just assume everyone playing is up to date or has a friend they can ask. Add this to the hostile atmosphere generated by the horrible halloween event and lack of communication with the staff and you get a bunch of grumpy forum-goers. Ersakoz’ advice is pretty good, try to look for some friendly discord communities for quick questions that may seem like common knowledge to people who have been sticking by the game for far too long than they would admit.
