Reflect shield vs heal

let’s take 200 spr for RS and 200 int for the Heal spell:

RS: Damage Reflection: 275 + 20 from attributes
Duration: 95 seconds
Reflects 9 times
cd 41 sec

Heal: Recovers HP equal to 5% of the maximum HP
Additional HP Recovery Rate: 655 ~ 774
Magic Circle Duration: 40 seconds
2 charges
15 tiles
cd 22 sec

We have 295 damage absorbtion vs 655-774 + 5% of maximum hp healing
9 hits vs 15 tiles
1 charge vs 2 charges
41 sec cd vs 22 sec cd

so balanced…

Reflect Shield is just an useless spell.

Reflect shield should scale of int or should have no hit limit…

Why are you even comparing most essential spell for clerics with wizard’s utility skill? You want 1 minute cooldown for Heal to balance it out?

Good thing about Reflect Shield is they can partially prevent knock backs. Thats most likely reason why Reflect Shield has limited hit count.

And that feature doesn’t work if the received damage is too high such as post-200 content or in PVP.

These forums have lead me to believe that Wizard players just want their class to be as broken as humanly possible with no possible downsides.

At least you wont flinch while taking some small damage with RS up, allows some spell to cast sucessfully without getting interrupted. But yeah, its still pretty derp for high end content regardless.

@OP ^This, if it did not work that way, What would be the point of surespell?

@Mirarara

  • I can confirm it does work like that not matter how high the damage you take is, I have a 233 wiz. I will double check to be sure, but i never suffered skill cancels while is up.

Seriously? Why would you even compare that? Comparing the main skill of cleric to a sub skill for wizard. Not to mention those classes are different in gameplay and role.

While they have heal, they don’t have access to many killing skills and for wiz it’s the opposite. So yah, it is somewhat balanced. That’s why you have parties to compensate for what the other is lacking.

Unless it was buffed, I’m pretty sure with or without reflect shield it don’t really matter when the damage is high during icbt2.

That’s why I removed Reflect Shield in my build.

Well, I don’t really recall getting interrupted by small damage anyway. When the damage is that small, all I have to use is instant cast spell usually.

Makes sense, as soon as they come up, i will test it for sure. Best thing about the forums is for us to share what is working as intended and also what is not.

The occasional flame war is part of it too XD. What to do with 24 hour maint.

HEY GUYS! QUIT KNOCKING IT!

this guy obviously spent at least several seconds comparing the relative merits of the 2 skills!

we should stop bashing on him, and consider lots of other useful skill comparisons to assist in game balance!

like…
Multishot (Archer) vs Pain Barrier (Swordie)

Aukaras (Krivis) vs Stone Curse (Elementalist)

Dievdirbys vs Fletcher as crafting classes.

Squire vs Corsair as magic casting classes.

come on, these are really important useful balance issues that need to be laughe-- i mean looked at!

Shut up and join the circlejerk.

you shut up, i’m joining the other circle-jerk.

Reflect shield should be the new healing spell… :joy:

You gotta be kidding me :comet:

I’m not, it’s a spell with placebo effect that makes you feels better.

Once you get used to not having it you will realize it don’t make a difference.

suureee the most imbalanced skill type in every game is reflect, why not make it even more stupid.
Reflect skills shouldn’t exist anyway.

i agree with you
but its not just that
if you compare both of then to the gung-ho from swordman you will see how much this game is unbalanced
seriosly imc even popolions kick ass with this skill
balance when?
