hello, guys seek help to know that gems up for my main weapon, I have doubts whether to choose the red (max attk) or choose the blue (magical damage), any suggestion will be well received.
PD: I am a hybrid user

blue gems if you have 3k+ matk.
red gems if you have under 2.5k matk.
Where did you find this information?
You choose a red gem if you are republican and a blue gem if you are democratic. It is so simple!

Only in the usa!. The rest of the world has the two political colours switched around.
Blue gem are better on lower level and red gem are better at high level thats what I seem to feel. (lvl 1-3) Blue gem > (lvl 1-3) Red gem.
People might prefer to have blue gem for more fixed damage on large cooldown skills though but in value speaking red gem will be better on average for higher level.
(If its true that transcendence work with blue gem (I can’t confirm) then blue gem are better with transcended weapons than red gems)
PS: I didn’t test all this out but been reading the forum about it for a while
We are lacking of info to do the comparison though, its how synergy work
With supports skills. Or anything else that can increase matk
For example:
Card like Chapparition +% matk: Working with red gem or not?
Quick Cast +50% matk attribute: Working with red gem or not?
And other stuff.
In high end gameplay people will get support, and its important to know the synergy of red gem and blue gem with support skills, to achieve higher damage.
Why going for Blue Gem or why going for Red.
Why people would go for Blue Gem? You want fixed damage to one shot monster ALWAYS with specific skills or auto attack. Or do a fixed amount of hits before killing them.
Why people would go for Red Gem? You want a better average output of matk and you don’t mind to deal less damage sometimes as long you know you deal more on average.

Which one is better to me? Red or Blue?
It depends on random really. Personally I go with red (even though I consider myself unlucky), mostly because I go druid3 and it gains from both matk and patk (and red gems boost both). Though if I didn’t go for druid3 I would probably use red gems anyway and here’s why:
- Assuming distribution of damage is uniform or normal red gem’s attack value would be (+max attack) / 2 which is higher than matk added by blue gems
- If you attack a mob which has defense close to your damage randomized damage will hit harder. For example:
- Your damage is 3000. Mob has 2900 defence. You hit him for 100 damage.
- Your damage is 2800-3200. Mob has 2900 defence. You hit him for 1-300 damage with an average of 113.
The gap isn’t large but it shows that randomized damage is generally better, and red gem’s average damage is higher too.
I’m still confused, I’m going plague doctor PVE have diev, mainly using owl and plague skills and some miko skills.
Mainly INT based little CON
What i need to know, is blue better for mag att or get red gems for max att??
Also what would be better, everyone seems to use 5 hammer or get a good rod???

Most people would prefer Blue Gems for consistency even though Red Gems would give you higher output on average. If you see yourself normal attacking a lot or using Carve Attack often, then Red Gems might be better for you.

ok ill stick to blues, but what would be better mace or rod. Gonna be using owl and PD skills
What level are you now?
Lv.40 - 315 = Five Hammer with Red Gems if you can afford it, otherwise just use whatever weapon you can get with the highest magic attack.
Lv.315 =
Skull Smasher for very high funding (2 Practonium + Mats + Transcendence)
Windia Rod for high funding (1 Practonium + Transcendence)
Vienarazis Mace (No Transcendence/Upgrade) or Circle Rod (Transcended and Upgraded) for budget

oh sweet, just at 80 cant afford reds atm or a five hammer atm, going fine otherwise, but one of the last ones im saving for like skull smasher or the vienarazis mace
If you see yourself wanting to try out other classes later on, you can just slowly work on the Five Hammer. 5 pieces 5-6 star gems is fine. Otherwise, yeah just use any cheap high matk weapon you can get and spend your money on enhance attributes.
