ah thanks i’ll move to that section
they really need to make mages need dex, i find it a bit unfair that they are the only class that doesn’t miss and also have alot more free stats ._.
sadly imc officially said that magic attacks are designed to be that way…
I would gladly swap missing with being able to Crit. Oh I can hear the cries now Lol.
Edit: It’s rather funny because before I even started ToS or really invested much thought into it, I wanted to run a DEX/Wiz Crit build. Yeah, until I learned Wizards couldn’t crit and I wasted 30 points Lol.
@junsubjjang Sounded good in theory Lol
LOL!!! dodge wizard!
look like pve could really use some lancer silence. (also get 2h spear block buff)
Look guys… I kind of get the feeling no one here has real experience or are friends with any swordsmen that are partying in kToS. Is this just a speculation thread? Cause that’s what it feels like.
I got an OP that’s showing videos of a solo warrior eating nukes to the face. And then a video of a support wizard using their contribution to their version of safety wall that does 16 blocks for the party before it breaks.
If you want to be in meta you got to have a class that does everything better then the others. You’re showing me solo vids of a game that’s balanced around team play. Talking about ET at rank 8 without showing me any party play.
Honestly I think this thread is a little bit funny. I’m not going for or against but I think your argument is lacking when you base and defend on the 2 videos linked on your post, which don’t really support it enough.
The general viewpoint of the moment is that swordman single target dps is the best now, while wiz and archer in many cases lack due to bad dps at rank 8 classes. Arguments on ktos still trying to figure out other classes true potential is a terrible one as it only shows you have no actual knowledge or experience of the balance yourself.
I just personally think we need more information and personal experience before we could really judge the balance, and of course as the content was just released there will be a lot of balancing in the future.
At the moment it’s looking pretty good for swordie tho.
hmm yes let us just wait for r8 to come here in our server and be the judge ourselves after all they aren’t done with the balances yet.
anyways no news yet after the nerfs so let us just wait and see.
yea i guess its wrong to speculate for party play. (its just that none of my friends are high enough lvl as swordy in ktos)
But the issues are still there and being a tank as swordsman is bad even at iTos ET.
Just want to bring out the issue so imc gets some idea how swordsman plays out.
I agree that we would need to wait, but this specific point
It’s hard to do anything else when you are melee and mobs have homing magic.
and autos not even skills they cast…
You’re starting this thread up again because of that guy? He’s really not worth listening to.
Talk to some people that are experiencing the new classes particularly the party play.
I cannot wait til R8 comes out so the hype dies down and we get more buffs from complaints.
I don’t want to just shill my own topic, but it’s relevant. Some of the other members and I break down some of the disadvantages with Swordsmen, so if you want a more in depth look I’ll leave a link:

As to what OP said, I agree with you 100%. Rank 8 does not fix the core issues with the Swordsmen class. Personally, I started to really feel the drop in viability at around level 200. It was simply impossible to have any kind of acceptable DPS and survivability.
As a high level tank I’m having a decent time, I feel like I’m contributing to the efficiency of grind parties and saving a lot of time on pulling large groups of monsters.
Wizards are Tanks now and can stand in the middle of 50 monsters taking 1 damage.
“The Ultimate Tank”, Murmillo, with Lots of CON, can’t kill 4 monsters without almost dying.
Yeah.
lol sounds like you’re being sarcastic but what you just said is reality…i hate to say this but others are just being blinded by the r8 hype so sad.
You also forgot that the sage buff is party wide and will become more and more broken if the game survive for r9+
Meanwhile i’m yet to see the murmillo helmet doing it’s job, it’s a self buff and comes with movement speed penalty.
I’m still waiting for a kabba2 + transpose ff2 video, i’m ready to bet this is the new frost cloud.
It’s a chance to dodge magic attacks…Slithering is better and more reliable though
