Re:Build - FAQ 2

Because fully transcending a weapon costs around 150BG (200BG for 2 hand weapons) which is around 300m to 400m in silver. Armor is a lot cheaper, shields only cost around 60BG.

The entire life of ToS so far saw level caps being raised and new tiers of gear being added every half a year or so, which essentially means that players aspiring to be at peak performance have to redo the whole enhancing and transcendence grind for each weapon they want to use. It also didn’t help that builds that could utilize multiple weapons didn’t really perform that much better than meta builds that only needed one weapon investment.

Yea. I get that it’s suuuper expensive and troublesome but my main question here is:
why classes must rely on only one weapon?
I see no issue here that couldn’t be solved with proper balancing.

I mentioned it a bit, basically they’re designing the classes for rebuild so that one weapon will let it function like any other class. Choosing to invest in both a dagger and a pistol will let you use a few extra skills from corsair and outlaw for example but they don’t want players to feel pressured to use both.

EDIT: I mean, they’re sorta improving on the old issue of multi weapon users being pressured to invest in multiple weapons but still not performing better than single weapon users. Just to clarify.

Oh! Sorry. I haven’t clarified well what I’m refering to.
I am asking about this in regard to Scout’s 1H swords.

(Though I also don’t see much of a problem with Corsairs and other classes using both dagger and pistol interchangeably if one wishes to bother with such a playstyle and it’s costs.)

Besides, I guess people will need to bother with upgrading multiple weapons anyway if ToS is to keep a variety of valid class combinations.
Otherwise, class trees will be cut down to “same-weapon classes” builds.

am having deja u . . .

Well, for scout’s sword main hand all I could say is to think of the opposite instead. Imagine if they had a class that used the sword, or gave some skills that used sword. You’ll then have people complaining about the class not having synergy with other classes in the same tree because it’s the only one using sword, or you’ll have people crying about having to invest in sword to use the sword skills.

I mean this is essentially what happened when they added the dagger skill for corsair c3, you had people crying about having to invest in both pistol and dagger even though it’s totally fine if you just choose one or the other.
